10-Year-Old Girl Found Wearing Explosive Device Apparatus In Katsina

Nigerian military forces have arrested and detained a pair of suspected Boko Haram members, who were allegedly travelling with a 10-year-old girl who was wearing a suicide bomb apparatus. A government spokesman alleges that the suspects, intercepted today, were travelling along a road in Katsina in a Honda CRV. The child, named Hadiza, was later discovered to have been strapped to an explosive belt, the spokesman claims. The suspects then reportedly tried to flee the scene in the vehicle, but were deterred and subsequently detained.

Not again. Another female suicide bomber blew herself up at Aminu Kano College of Islamic Studies this afternoon July 30th around 2.45 as students were checking their results in the school. Kano State Police Command confirmed the blast but didn't state the number of casualties. Have you guys noticed how it's now women blowing themselves up? 

Police arrest herdsmen plotting to rob bank customers in Abia State

Three suspected Fulani herdsmen have been arrested by the Abia State Police Command for allegedly attempting to rob some bank customers at Ohafia. Parading the suspects in Umuahia, Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu , said the armed herdsmen on a motorcycle were nabbed by policemen around 7pm near a bank at Ohafia, where they were laying siege on customers withdrawing money via the Automated Teller Machine. The commissioner said the suspects, who were observed making suspicious movements around the bank premises, were closely monitored and later apprehended. He said the police recovered a locally-made pistol, live cartridges and long knives hidden under their flowing gowns and suits. One of the suspects, who managed to communicate in pidgin English as others could only speak Fulani language, admitted ownership of the gun, but said the intention was not to rob as allegd by the police. Operatives of The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have apprehended a 39-year-old suspected smuggler who sells motorcycle parts. PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect, Chibuzor Ogbodo, had concealed drugs confirmed as cannabis in food items before the officials of the agency attached to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos nabbed him. Our correspondent also gathered that Ogbodo, who owned a shop at Nnewi, Anambra State, was apprehended while trying to smuggle the drugs to China. In the course of investigations, the suspect, who hails from Enugu, said a successful trafficking of the dried weeds weighing 11.06 kilogrammes would have earned him $10,000 (N1.6m) profit. He claimed that his intention was to resuscitate his “dying” business after a friend had defrauded him of $3,000, adding that he planned to use the profit to buy motorcycle parts in China. Ebola victim, Patrick Sawyer, 40, who died of the deadly virus in Lagos, Nigeria, on July 25 was scheduled to return to the United States in August. His wife, Decontee Sawyer, said her husband was to return for two of their daughters’ birthdays. Decontee and the children lived in Coon Rapids, Michigan. Patrick Sawyer died on Friday after suffering extreme bouts of vomiting and diarrhea on a flight from Liberia to Nigeria Decontee said her husband had planned to return to their Coon Rapids home in August to attend two of his three daughters’ birthdays, Minnesota’s KSTP-TV reported. The Edo state Police command has arrested a man identified as Oruma who allegedly stabbed his 20-year-old friend, Frederick Eze (pictured above), in the neck over a N2,000 debt. Punch reports that Frederick, who was angry that Oruma had not paid his money, accosted him at the Oza area of the state & seized a property belonging to Frederick, who is an ice cream factory worker from Ebonyi state. A fight broke out between them and Oruma broke a bottle and stabbed Frederick in the neck. Frederick lost conciousness after losing so much blood. He was rushed to a private hospital on a wheelbarrow after several cab drivers declined to take him. Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, Noble Uwoh, said, “He has been arrested. The two people in the matter are friends.” he said
