A n 18-year-old man, Agugu Adau, has allegedly killed his mother for refusing to give him a “disappearing” charm he claimed was his inheritance from his late herbalist father. A family source told the News Agency of Nigeria that Agugu committed the crime at his Kisaghyip village farm in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau. The source said that Agugu, after killing his mother, removed N20,000 from her blood-sucked clothes and used it to buy a mobile phone, a shirt and a pair of slippers. Tyopev Terna, spokesman of the Plateau Police Command, confirmed that the suspect was being held, but declined further comments. “Investigation is ongoing. The details are not ready. Please understand with us and be patient,” he told NAN on phone. G overnor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Saturday stated that Igbos in Kano and other parts of the North don’t need to leave as a result of the recent quit notice issued by Arewa Youths. Ganduje made this clear this during a meeting with the Igbo Delegates Assembly (IDA) and Igbo Traditional rulers in the 19 northern states, led by IDA President-General, Chief Chi Nwogu, at the Government House in Kano. According to the Governor, “even if you want to go on your own, we will not allow you to leave. “There is a difference between I will not go and there is no where I can go. You don’t have anywhere to go, this place is your home. “Those advocating ethnic agitation from the East are not speaking for all Igbos. T he Department of State Services (DSS) is set to invite three ex-Ministers and some other prominent Nigerians for questioning, following their announcement by a secessionist organisation, Biafra Zionist Federation (BZF) as cabinet members. On Monday, BZF announced the formation of an interim government for the Republic of Biafra, with one Barrister Benjamin Onwuka as the President. Some of the people listed as Ministers at a press conference the group held in Enugu include former Minister of Power, Prof Barth Nnaji; former Minister of Information Prof Jerry Gana and another former Information Minister, Labaran Maku. 4-month-old girl found dead in SUV after her grandmother thought she had dropped her off at daycare

T he Oklahoma County sheriff's office confirms that A 4-month-old girl was found dead after she was left inside an SUV for most of the day, said. The child's grandmother thought she dropped the girl at a daycare in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area on her way to work on Friday morning so she went to pick up her granddaughter about 5 p.m. prompting daycare workers to look for the child inside the facility. They couldn't find her and later discovered the deceased in a car seat inside her grandmother's SUV. Mark Opgrande, a spokesman with the Oklahoma County sheriff's office. said, 'she apparently thought that she dropped off the child this morning, which she had not. The White House has officially given the go-ahead for the sale of military planes to Nigeria to aid in the fight against Islamist militant group Boko Haram. According to AP news agency, President Donald Trump told Nigeria's President Buhari in a phone conversation back in February that he supported the deal said to be worth up to $600m (£490m). The deal was agreed by the Obama administration, but was reportedly halted on the day it was due to be sent to Congress, after a catastrophic incident involving the Nigerian military led to 90 people, mainly women and children getting killed in January when the Nigerian Air Force mistakenly bombed a camp in the country's north-east, which was hosting thousands of those who had fled Boko Haram.

A Nigerian police officer left a very hateful, tribalistic comment on Facebook that sparked outrage.  Salihu Ajanaku, who is from Kwara state, dropped a comment on a post, insulting the Igbos. He described Igbos as fools, adding that they are the most useless ethnic group in Nigeria. He called their men kidnappers and ritualists then went on to shame Igbo women, calling them all prostitutes and claimed he had sexual relations with three Igbo women the night before. He wrote: "Ibo fools, Ibo idiots, Ibo mumu, Ibos are the most useless ethnic group in Nigeria, their girls are into prostitution for a living, Sincerely I slept with 3 last night. "Three sum". Now talk of their men, Ye paa! They’re robbers, kidnappers and ritualists. Awon olori buruku, konidadfun your mama and your papa" His comment got a lot of replies, with so many of them calling him out for what he wrote but he was unrepentant and stood his ground. T wo of the 14 members announced to the board of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other offences Commission (ICPC) are being investigated by the anti-corruption agency for alleged corruption in the region of N1billion, the ICIR is reporting. The two nominees are Maimuna Aliyu and Sa’ad Alanamu. The appointments were announced on Tuesday following approval by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo. The proposed new board is to be headed by Bolaji Owasanoye, a professor of law and current secretary of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC). While Mr. Alanamu is being investigated on corruption charges allegedly committed while he headed several institutions in Kwara State, Ms. Aliyu has a longstanding case of abuse of office, misappropriation and diversion of public funds against her. In fact, the ICIR learnt on Friday that charges were already being prepared against her by the ICPC in preparation to taking her to court when her name was annou
