PDP leaders dismiss purported sack of Chief Olisa Metuh

Image
The attention of Peoples Democratic Party from the one hundred and eighteen (118) electoral Wards, and the seven (7) Local Government Areas that made up Anambra South Senatorial District of Anambra State has been drawn to reports in some media titled, “Anambra PDP sacks Metuh" and wish to state as follows; 1. That the said media reports about the purported suspension of Chief Olisa Metuh did not emanate from either Otolo Ward 1, or any of the Wards and LGA in Anambra South Senatorial District and not from PDP Anambra State, rather it was the handiwork of agents of All Progressive Congress (APC) in their desperate attempts to bring down at all cost the Leader of PDP in Anambra State, Chief Olisa Metuh. 2.  That we challenge the authors of the fabricated stories about the purported suspension/sack of our Leader Chief Olisa Metuh from PDP, to publish the names and signatures of the elected PDP Ward, LGA and State officers that signed the false and malicious resolution.

Marines who removed flag from U.S. embassy in Cuba return 54 years later to raise it again

Image
After 54 years, three United States Marines have returned to Cuba to finish a job that, despite being their duty, none of them truly wanted to do in the first place. On January 4, 1961, James Tracy, Mike East and Larry Morris walked out of the U.S. Embassy in Havana and in a silent ceremony, in front of the hundreds of Cuban gathered outside in the hopes of obtaining a visa to the U.S., took down the U.S. flag for what they assumed would be the last time in Cuba. The three former Marines, however, have been called back to Cuba to perform one final task for their nation: to once again raise the flag they thought they’d never see fly over Havana as the U.S. officially reopens its embassy in the Cuban capital on Friday. "I think about it every night now," East said in a video recorded by the White House. "Seeing that flag go back up." All three armed service members have fond memories of their time on the island –as brief as it was – a

92-year-old woman kicked out of church for not tithing

Image
A 92-year-old woman is no longer allowed to worship at the church where she was a member for more than 50 years because she was not tithing. Josephine King said that was the reason she was kicked out of Bainbridge's First African Baptist Church. Her family members said they hope the situation will bring change to churches across the nation. “Josephine King is no longer considered a member of the First African Baptist Church of Bainbridge, Georgia,” read Gerald Simmons, as he skimmed over the letter addressed to his aunt. The letter, signed by Senior Pastor Derrick Mike, stated that Ms. King "has shown non-support" towards the church in the areas of "constant and consistent financial and physical participation." "She was stunned. She was disappointed. She was shocked," said Simmons. He said Ms. King was considered sick and a shut-in for several months, which was the reason for her lack of attendance. He also said

US Exporting Arms To Nigeria Despite 'Ban'

Image
Despite a much touted “ban” allegedly preventing the United States from exporting arms to the Nigerian forces, Pentagon records show the US Army is sending military equipment, including armoured vehicles and ambulances, to Nigeria, which has been embroiled in counter-insurgency operations in the northeast. President Muhammudu Buhari complained last month that the US had “aided and abetted the Boko Haram terrorists” by refusing to send arms to Nigeria forces on the grounds of “unproven allegations of human rights violations levelled”. In a speech before the US Institute of Peace, he blamed a “blanket application” of Leahy Laws, legislation introduced by Sen. Patrick J. Leahy to prohibit US public funds from being given to foreign military units involved in gross human rights violations. But Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) records show the Department of Defense is nonetheless set to transfer military material to Nigeria. A DSCA list of so-called Exces

Cnn & CBC Sued For Pirating 31 Seconds Youtube Video

Image
CNN and Canada's CBC are being sued after the pair allegedly ripped a 31 second video from YouTube and used it in their broadcasts without a license. In addition to claims of copyright infringement, the media giants face allegations that they breached the anti-circumvention measures of the DMCA. While millions of users upload videos to YouTube every day without expecting any reward, it’s possible for popular content to generate plenty of revenue through YouTube’s account monetization program. New York resident Alfonzo Cutaia used the program last year when he sensed he had a hit video on his hands, but allegedly some news organizations didn’t play by the rules and now things have become messy. Things began in 2014 when winter storm ‘ Knife ‘ buried parts of New York and surrounding areas under several feet of snow. On November 18, Cutaia was watching the storm coming over Lake Erie from his Buffalo office window when he decided to record events on his mobile p

The Ekiti state government has debunked claim by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that the state got a total sum of N8.5 billion from the Federation Account in June. According to the government, the state got a total sum of N4.1 billion while the 16 local councils got N2.7 billion.
