Mozambique Airlines plane crashes in Namibia, killing 33

A Mozambique Airlines plane carrying 27 passengers and 6 crew members crashed in Namibia today Saturday November 30th, killing all on board, local media reports. The Brazilian-made Embraer 190 aircraft left Maputo and was heading to Luanda when it crashed in a remote border area near a Namibian national park, Mozambique authorities said.  Namibian Police Force Deputy Commissioner Willy Bampton said rescue workers had found the burned-out wreckage of the aircraft in the dense bush of Bwabwata National Park, near the borders with Angola and Botswana.

Politics: Widow Rejected By Adams Oshiomhole To Receive N250,000 From PDP Chapter In Edo State

After Governor Oshiomhole told a widow who kicked against the law to go and die during one of his official duties in the State, the PDP, Edo State chapter have announced that they had instituted an endowment fund for  the widow . They asked her to come to their secretariat to receive a first instalment sum of N250,000. In the  statement  signed by the state chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih, the party described the Governor’s actions as “appalling, insensate, disgraceful, indecent, cruel and below board,” noting that “we will continue to stand in the gap to ensure that Edo people are deservedly fairly treated.”

Repentant militant and leader of the defunct Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, who was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Cotonou, Benin Republic but was released on Thursday, has attributed his ordeal to an allegation which emanated from Nigeria that linked him to the dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram. He also attributed his travails in the hands of the Beninoise authorities to persons, who he claimed are opposed to the 2015 re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.

N100m Suit: Etisalat Replies Comedian Julius Agwu

Telecommunication giant, Etisalat Nigeria, has reacted to Julius Agwu's seven day ultimatum to the company that it should compensate him with the sum of N100 million or risk legal action over "alleged unlawful and unjustified blocking and/or swapping" of his Etisalat GSM phone number 08189555555. Agwu demanded the compensation through his lawyer, Festus Keyamo, due to what he termed lost of business opportunities and the inconvenience experienced by him during the period. Keyamo in a letter dated 26 November, 2013 to the company stated that "in the event that you fail, refuse or neglect to accede to our above stated demand within seven (7) days from the receipt of this letter, we shall be compelled to set in motion against you, all legal machineries necessary to obtain legal remedy for our client."

APC Carrying Out a Door-To-Door Campaign For Participation In Today’s Poll Despite Threat To Boycott The Polls

Despite the call for a boycott  of today's supplementary governorship election in Anambra State  by the National leadership of the All Peoples Congress APC,  there are indications that the party would eventually participate in the poll. This view was expressed by a political analyst while contributing to a live television programme monitored in Abuja yesterday. The analyst who identified himself as Melville Ebo said he  was an indigene of AnambraState based in Abuja adding that he was in his hometown located in Onitsha South Local Goverment Area last Wednesday where he witnessed agents of APC carrying out a door-to-door campaign for participation in today's poll. Said he: "Even though the national leadership of the APC has said the party would boycott today's poll, I witnessed agents of the party while they were engaged in a door-to-door campaign during which they  asked  the people to vote for their candidate."
