A fresh case of Ebola virus disease has been recorded in Nigeria. One of the doctors that attended to the Liberian, Patrick Sawyler, tested positive to the virus. Result of the second doctor who was symptomatic is being awaited — this the Minister of Health said would be made public on Monday afternoon. At least 70 of those that also travelled along with the Liberian are under surveillance. Eight are already under quarantine. Airlines have also been directed not to bring back dead bodies from countries with Ebola virus. Government agencies have also been directed to ensure that borders are properly checked to ensure that dead bodies from such countries are not allowed in. Besides, the government has also set up six member treatment and research committee as part of the efforts to contain the disease.

With a heavy heart, we report the sudden death of the former Honourable State Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, Lady Chioma Ogoke who gave up the ghost today. According to information reaching IMO STATE BLOG , Lady Ogoke who served as in the Okorocha administration had on Sunday afternoon visited a current serving commissioner (name withheld) at his official residence in New Owerri. She was said to have slumped at the said commissioners home and was rushed to the hospital where she gave up the ghost after a suspected heart -attack. Ogoke played a very vital role with the Rescue mission campaign. At the time of her death, she was the Transition Chairman for Ehime Mbano, L.G.A  May her soul rest in peace

The war between Israel and Palestine has entered Day 28 and what's happening there is sickening. Over half a million people in Gaza city have been rendered homeless  with 270,000 crammed into 90 crowded UN shelters, some of which have had no running water and electricity.  At least 1,700 Palestinians have been killed while 69 Israelis have been killed. Shelters full of children in Gaza have been bombed, medical supplies have run out, many hospitals damaged and medics are unable to go to work. Many UN facilities sheltering displayed Palestinians, especially women and children have been hit, killing so many little children in the city. The conflict between Israel and Palestine has been going on for decades but this particular one started on July 17th after Gaza attacked Israel with rockets following failed peace negotiations. Weeks after 2face Idibia slammed a N100million lawsuit against soft-sell magazine, Icon Weekly, after they published a story claiming he had cheated on his wife and impregnated a banker,  the magazine has apologized to the singer and have withdrawn their story, accepting that it was a false publication. 2face's publicist accepted the apology on his behalf, so the suit will be struck out. PORT HARCOURT— Leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, has denied allegation that he masterminded the bombing in Kaduna that almost killed former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) According to Vanguard , Asari, who spoke in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said the allegation was part of a ploy by those behind the attack to rubbish him ahead of the 2015 general elections. Speaking through the national chairman of his group, Aladiokuma Hart, Asari alleged that the same group behind the allegation masterminded his arrest in Benin Republic because of the coming general polls.
