Image
The leadership crisis rocking the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) took another twist, as Oshoffa’s family has denounced Rev. Olatosho Oshoffa as the unification leader of the church. Last week, Olatoso declared himself the new unification leader of the CCC at a news conference in Lagos, saying that the leadership of the church supported his move. But at a new conference at the weekend in Ketu, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, members of the Oshoffa family said the declaration of Olatosho as the new leader of the church is an act of rebellion. Spokesperson of the Oshoffa dynasty, Senior Evangelist Ebenezer Oshoffa said the family did not support Olatosho’s leadership of the church. “The family has always avoided public interference in the affairs of the church, the Celestial Church of Christ founded by our dear father but it has become imperative and as a matter of urgency for us to speak out as a family because of the recent twist in the leadership tussle of the church

Oil bunkering in the Niger Delta, has been a perennial problem. The country is to have lost oil estimated at $10.9 billion or about 136 million barrels to crude oIl thieves. Also 10 bil¬lion barrels of oil valued at $894 million have been lost to pipeline vandalised in the downstream sector. This represents 7.7 per cent of total revenue that accrued to the country within the period to crude oil thieves. Being heavily de¬pendent on crude oil for its foreign exchange earnings, the county’s economy has suffered a serious decline following large scale theft in the oil industry. This is notwithstanding the zero tolerance of the menace always declared by se¬curity agencies. Though, in recent times, such nefarious activities have reduced compared to some years back, illegal oil bunkering, some experts predict, would be difficult to curtail. This is because of the huge financial rewards it accrues to perpetrators and the high profile of those involved. Apart from the eno

The ISIS fanatic accused of beheading his boss has 'confessed' to his grisly crime and blamed it on 'problems at home and work'. Yassin Salhi, 35, told investigators he decapitated Herve Cornara because of the 'personal difficulties' in his life. The married father-of-three sent a macabre selfie of him posing with the severed head of his boss reportedly daubed in Islamic writing to a WhatsApp number in Canada. Investigators said it was not possible to fix the location of Salhi's contact, but it has been reported the recipient was in Syria where ISIS has seized swaths of territory. Cornara's head was found pinned to the gates at the American-owned Air Products factory in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier near Lyon, surrounded by two Islamist flags, on Friday morning. The powerful love story behind the legalization of gay marriage in the USA

Image
Jim and Late John  It's no news that same sex marriage has been legalized in all 50 states in the USA..However, the new ruling sprung up from a love story between a gay couple ..As published on  Daily Mail In 2013, Jim Obergefell and John Arthur were watching TV news about the Supreme Court striking down part of the federal anti-gay marriage law. Obergefell leaned over, kissed the man he had loved for more than two decades, and said, 'Let's get married.'They knew they didn't have much time. Arthur was in the final stages of Lou Gehrig's disease. Ohio voters had banned same-sex marriage. So within weeks, a medically equipped plane carried them to Maryland, where Arthur's aunt waited to officiate. Arthur lay on a gurney as the couple exchanged their vows inside the plane, on the tarmac. Less than four months later, Arthur died at age 48. Obergefell was listed on the death certificate as his surviving spouse; the couple had won a cour

EXCLUSIVE: Why Buhari is sidelining SSS in Presidential Villa

Image
The ongoing security reorganization at the State House that has seen operatives of the State Security Service expelled from inner Aso Rock is a result of concerns by President Muhammadu Buhari that the SSS has become excessively politicised and could easily compromise his security, presidency insiders have told PREMIUM TIMES. “The President believes that the officers of the service were deeply involved in high-wire brazen politicking prior to the 2015 election and they can be easily compromised for a mess of porridge,” said a top security source familiar with the President’s plans. The source said Mr. Buhari believe the SSS, as presently constituted, cannot be trusted with any serious assignment until it is “thoroughly reformed and reorganised”. “Most of those at the helms of the agency today are the same people who openly demonstrated hatred for the president and his party,” another presidential insider said. “Buhari is human and he cannot allow a bunch of opposition pol

30 days in office: PDP urges prayers for Buhari to deliver, says It’s been all motion, no movement

Image
Press statement from PDP below... After a careful evaluation of the first 30 days of President Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressives Congress (APC)'s administration, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) notes that it has become obvious that Nigerians need to join hands in prayers to save the government from further inaction and dithering. The party said the call for prayers has become necessary given the fact that the administration is finding it difficult to locate its bearing and even take off and face the challenges of governance at the center resulting in 30 days of all motion and no movement, a scenario that does not augur well for the polity  PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh in a statement on Sunday said that the enormity of the confusion surrounding the government and party in the last one month makes it imperative for Nigerians to join hands in prayers as the success or failure of the Buhari administration will not only affect the President and his
