Nollywood Has Become Too Boring & Predictable For Me- Jim Iyke

Image
In a new chat with  Punch ,Jim Iyke explains why he is not seen in Nollywood movies lately... “Nothing was challenging anymore. It was too easy and too perpetual. It was too boring and too predictable. I had no room to pursue or hone other skill sets I had. I didn’t have time for extra curriculums like hobbies, family, and friends, personal and social advancements. Something had to give! After all, I was the guy that made 38 films in a year,” On his bad boy image and constant controversies...... “I’ve heard that I deem myself something of a puppeteer and that I orchestrate these media maelstroms to maintain relevance and news. I wish I was that creative! The other side of the debate – the more discerning would argue – I’m a victim of PR machinery gone wrong. Perhaps my handlers in the earlier stages of my career saw a need to create an unfathomable media being that was as audacious as the characters I played in films. “It caught on. Caused quite a stir, then quickly spiralled

RMD Reacts To Bad Health Rumour, Says I'm In The Best Shape Of My Life

Image
There have been rumours both online and on entertainment magazines that Nollywood icon and Delta State Commissioner for Culture & Tourism, Richard Mofe-Damijo, has health issues probably because of his recent weight loss. I saw him a while back and he looked more handsome than ever! Anyway, RMD has reacted to the rumours, saying he's better than ever. "What else do you need? You saw me on stage, did I look sick? People are probably so disappointed to see me looking so much better they want the news to be true. Unfortunately for them, I am in the best shape of my life.  "Have you not taken photos of me. It amazes me how people cling to bad news. I am a public servant in Delta State, I go to work every day. I am not sick. I changed my lifestyle and lost weight and I am looking better than I have ever looked in my adult life. For the records, I am not on Facebook and my colleagues that they used their names as those who posted the stories have all denied it.”RMD t

Image
The Cable has reported that Professor Dora Akunyili’s death was caused by misdiagnosis way back in 1998. According to reports by the Cable: When Mrs Dora Nkem Akunyili was the Zonal Secretary (South-east) of the Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund in 1998, Nigerian doctors gave her what many of her family members considered to be a health scare. They said she had a growth and needed surgery. Akunyili, then 44, decided to travel to the United States, first to get a second opinion and then undergo the prescribed surgery. The bill for the medical trip was $17,000, including $12,000 for the surgery. During pre-surgery check-up in the US, the doctors told her the Nigerian doctors had made a wrong diagnosis and that she did not need any surgery. It was said to be a minor issue that medication would solve. She thanked the doctors and, to their surprise, said she was going to return the money meant for the surgery to PTF. That was strange. Nigerian government officials had devised a way of maki

I Have Ways Of Communicating With Boko Haram Members As Some Of The Chibok Girls Will Never Return - Obasanjo

Image
KADUNA—Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, expressed frustration in his bid to secure the release of the over 200 schoolgirls abducted in Chibok, Borno State, by Boko Haram Islamist sect, saying that although he has ways of reaching the sect, Federal Government has not permitted him to negotiate with the terrorists. He also made a grim comment about the fate of the girls, saying that some of them would never return. Speaking in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service monitored in Kaduna yesterday, Obasanjo said: “Perhaps, succeeding generations would continue to remember those female students who were abducted. “Only those that would later get pregnant and the sect members would find it difficult to cater for the babies in the forest might be released. “I have ways of communicating with Boko Haram members, but the government has not permitted me to do so.” He was of the view that the girls might have been separated and not kept at the same location. He said:
