The Department of State Services (DSS) in Anambra State has burst a car-snatching syndicate.Six suspects were arrested. They are Nworah Ibe, Levi kelechi Eze, Joseph Igboji, James Ukoh, Titus Okwudili Duruaku and Victor Ndubuisi. State DSS Director Mr. Alex Okeiyi, while parading the suspects yesterday, said the suspects would be prosecuted.   Ukoh and Igboji (aka-onye-owa) are from Ebonyi State and were arrested at Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area.   Ibe, who is from Enugu State and Eze from Imo were traced to Lokoja in Kogi State by the DSS. They were caught while attempting to snatch a Honda Accord car from at Ajaokuta.

The plan was that Cameroon forces would invade the Nigeria Obudu ranches and some parts in East Nigeria. France would give its military backing and lobby in the UN and EU to support this move. Rebel groups supported by Cameroon should take over. The instability that this would create would weaken president Goodluck. Also France had contacts with high ranked military in the Nigerian army and politicians who would use this to commit a coup and bring down president Goodluck. Men and officers of the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police yesterday uncovered an underground cell suspected to be ritualists’ den in Iyana Egbado village in Ewekoro local government area of the state. A middle aged man who identified himself as Gbenga who was in possession of severed human parts was also arrested by the police in connection with the suspected ritualists den. It was gathered from the scene of the incident which is located under a bridge few meters away from the main gate of a popular cement company along the Abeokuta -Lagos expressway that the suspect had attempted to kill a woman before she was rescued by a passer-by.  

A young housewife who's crazy about money but was not getting as much as she wanted from her husband has been arrested by men of Nigeria Police in Delta after they discovered she arranged her own kidnap. 33-year-old Grace Obi is said to have, along with an accomplice, faked her own abduction in a bid to extort some good money from her husband. She was found out and arrested, and so was her accomplice, after all the investigations conducted by the police indicated the kidnapping is fake. Confirming the unfortunate incident, the state Police Commissioner, Ikechukwu Aduba, said:   The woman and her agent have been arrested. He said a case of kidnapping of Grace Obi was reported at the Police Area Command, Warri, on March 7, 2014 and investigation into the case revealed that the victim is the one who masterminded her own kidnap just to extort money from her spouse. THE battle to make illegal gun smuggling through Nigerian borders difficult has begun with the arrest of a multi-million-naira illegal gun dealer, Abdulazeez Amao, by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Command.   A suspected international gun-runner who has been on the wanted list of the Police, he was arrested by the Command sequel to an intelligence gathered on their activities on the nation’s gateway in Seme.   The alleged gun dealer Amao and his “middle-man” Olatunji Tubosun are now being interrogated at SARS.     Recovered from the suspects were 10 new AK47 rifles and 19 AK7 magazines all loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition. The alleged kingpin, who spoke to newsmen at the parade ground of the State Police Command Headquarters GRA, Ikeja, said he was “importing the arms and ammunition from Burkina Faso.”

THE endless ritual murder going on in Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Council of Enugu State has claimed another victim. Miss Ngozi Eze, 35, had her body parts severed after four men raped her serially.  As at the time of filing this report, the Umuagama Community Neighborhood Watch in Enugu-Ezike has apprehended the four suspected ritualists in connection with the incident and handed them over to the Police in Enugu. One person was feared dead yesterday in a stampede at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), during the screening of fresh students. It was gathered that scores of students also sustained serious degrees of injury in the stampede. Witnesses told LEADERSHIP that the stampede occurred when the students were attempting to force their way into the premises of the hall where the screening exercise was taking place and UNIBEN security personnel forcefully closed the gate against them, forcing the surging students to fall, following which hundreds of them marched on those on the ground. When LEADERSHIP visited the institution yesterday, thousands of applicants who besieged the Akin Deko auditorium, venue of the screening, were still at the two gates leading to the hall.

No fewer than 118 suspected hoodlums have been arrested at the Oshodi area of Lagos in the early hours of Wednesday. It was learnt that officials of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, stormed Oshodi around 2am and arrested the hoodlums. The hoodlums were accused of not having any known address and using the darkness to unleash mayhem in the area. Those arrested comprised 106 males and 12 females. PUNCH Metro gathered that over 160 persons were initially arrested, but some of them were allowed to go after a screening at the task force office in Alausa. Task force Chairman, Bayo Sulaiman, a Chief Superintendent of Police,  said the raid at Oshodi lasted for one hour.

At least six passengers on board a boat were feared dead after it capsized in a lagoon in the Majidun area off Ikorodu in Lagos State on Wednesday evening. However, 22 others, who also fell of the boat were rescued by local divers. The development occurred barely two weeks after 13 people died at the 4th Avenue, 42 Road, Festac Town, Festac, Lagos State. According to an anonymous source, the boat was filled with working class people who were headed home after the day’s job.

Security officials have released popular blogger and youths activist Japheth Omojuwa, Uche Briggs and four others hours after they were  arrested  in Abuja for leading a protest over the deaths of 17 youths during the nationwide recruitment tests by the Nigeria Immigration Service. ABUJA — In a move seen as a sign of her further rejection by the Presidency, sacked Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, was yesterday summoned for interrogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over her role in the purchase of two armoured BMW cars. Vanguard gathered that the embattled former minister, who was touted as one of the closest to the President, looked forlorn, as she turned in herself to EFCC operatives for questioning in relation to the controversial bullet‑proof vehicles. Oduah, who arrived the EFCC office in Wuse 2, Abuja around 10.30 am, was not allowed to go by her interrogators until 3 p.m.
