'Imposition of Ali Modu-Sheriff is PDP's biggest mistake since conceding election to Buhari" - FFK replies Doyin Okupe

Image
After the Police sealed the proposed venue of the PDP Convention in Port Harcourt this morning, Former Minister of Aviation, Femi-Fani-Kayode, reacted via Facebook, saying the imposition of Ali Modu Sheriff as National Chairman of the party, even though he warned them against it, was PDP's mistake, as the APC led government would not allow the convention to hold, especially since Sheriff is allegedly working for them.  Former Media aide to former president Jonathan, Doyin Okupe then reacted via his own page, stating that APC and President Buhari are not to be held responsible for the failed National Convention slated for today in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Rather the blame should rest squarely on the failure of internal conflict resolution machinery of the PDP, the surprising naivety and desperation of many to seize power and control the party, and the gullibility of majority of the followership. FFK has now politely replied Doyin Okupe, insisting th...

Image
Some of the 38 officers compulsorily retired by the Nigerian Army have sought redress, after they complained authorities breached Nigerian laws in laying them off. Multiple sources – including the affected officers, spokespersons of the Army and the Defence Minister – confirmed this to PREMIUM TIMES. According to documents seen by this newspaper, one of the affected officers, Abdulfatai Mohammed, petitioned the President on June 20, within the 30 days prescribed by the law. “I want to respectfully state that I was not in any way involved in any of the 2 issues stated as reasons for compulsory retirement of 38 officers of which I was among,” Mr. Mohammed, a retired Lieutenant Colonel, wr...

APC, Buhari not to blame for failed PDP convention- Doyin Okupe

Image
Former Media aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, says that APC and President Buhari are not to be held responsible for the failed National Convention slated for today in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. He said this in a statement he released this afternoon. Read below The failed PDP convention cannot and should not be blamed on our political adversaries. Rather the blame should rest squarely on the failure of internal conflict resolution machinery of the Pdp, the surprising naivety and desperation of many to seize power and control the party, and the gullibility of majority of the followership, who have become entrenched in the cesspool of pervasive impunity of our leadership over the years. However it is commendable that the NEC threw sentiments aside and extended the tenure of the controversial caretaker commuter by one year and allowed for future expansion of the membership of the committee. The import of this is that the party has now officially jetti...

"When I warned our people about Buhari and what he would do with power, no-one listened" - FFK reacts

Image
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi-Fani-Kayode, shared this on Facebook in reaction to Police sealing the proposed venue of the PDP Convention in Port Harcourt this morning. Read below. "When I warned our people about Buhari and what he would do with power no-one listened. When I warned Pdp Nigeria and particularly our PDP governors about the dangers of making Ali Modu Sheriff National Chairman they would not listen. I also told them that the government would NOT allow the convention to hold because Sheriff is working for them. Now look at what they are doing in PH in collusion with some corrupt judges just to destabilise, destroy and silence the opposition. Governors put under house arrest. Convention venue sealed off. It is shameful. Let me make a another prediction: this is just the beginning of their tyranny. It will get far worse. That is "mai chanji" for you! The sooner the leaders of the PDP wake up, smell the coffee and appreciate the kind...

CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele Cries Out?

Image
A source shared this interesting info and calls it CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele’s Report:  “It is either I do not understand economics and how exchange rates work or a vast majority of us Nigerians still don’t get how we have wrecked our country with our own curious choices. Just this morning, I was listening to the radio and the lady on air went on and on about how she thought CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele was incompetent and should be sacked because the Naira was now exchanging at 309 or so to the USD. That view pretty much echoes the sentiments expressed by many people I know and it amazes me that there are Nigerians who actually think there is some magic POLICY that can make the Naira strong in the near term. If my economics and my understanding of the way the world works are right, then that is as far from the truth. The simple fact of the matter is that apart from oil that accounts for over 90% of our revenues, we really don’t have much of an economy....
