The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Adamu Mu’azu, has ruled out a landslide victory for the party in the forthcoming general elections. The PDP has formed the federal government as well as most of the state governments since the return of democracy in Nigeria 16 years ago, following its victory in the 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011 elections. President Goodluck Jonathan is the PDP candidate in the March 28 presidential poll. In a statement on Thursday, Mr. Mu’azu said he did not foresee a landslide victory for his party in the coming elections billed for March 28 and April 11. He however said he was confident the party will win the elections. The University of Port Harcourt has declined a Freedom of Information, FOI, request for the doctorate degree records of President Goodluck Jonathan. In a response to the Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, a Rivers State-based civil society organization, the university said a request for President Jonathan’s academic records did not fall within the provisions of the FOI law. “The Management of the University has carefully considered your request vis-a-vis the FOI Act,” the university stated in their letter dated 26th February, 2015, and signed by Eric Loveday Osuo Abonemi, the institution’s Legal Officer. “It is my instructions to inform you that your request does not come within the relevant provisions of the FOI Act for its practicability or for the University to provide such details as requested. “Details of the Ph.D Degree of President Goodluck Jonathan in the University of Port Harcourt cannot therefore be made available to you.” The Institute of

A 9-year-old girl, Nicole Benson, who is a pupil of Greensprings School Lekki campus, has officially donated her lunch money to the Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Nicole made the donation of about N6,000 during the at a Town Hall meeting with Nigerian women on Thursday in Lagos, while she also read the  letter she wrote a month ago to the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential campaign team. One Michael Oyejide, who resides at Ijeja, in Abeokuta has been arrested and locked up in jail for allegedly raping to death his 18-year-old girlfriend. The 24 year old was found guilty after facing three counts of conspiracy, rape and murder, today in an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court. The Magistrate, Mr Martins Akinyemi, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison pending legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution. The Prosecutor, Cpl. Moshood Hammed, told the court that the accused and one other at large, committed the offence on January 8 at about 11:41p.m. at Ijeja in Abeokuta.Hammed said the accused and his accomplice had raped the girl after a party to celebrate his birthday. Kallamu Musa-Dikwa, the pastor who accused the Christian Association of Nigeria of collecting N7bn bribe from President Goodluck Jonathan, says his life is in danger. The Borno-based pastor had alleged that CAN received the money from the president to campaign against the APC Presidential candidate, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.). In a statement released in Kaduna on Thursday, March 19, Musa-Dikwa said the Directorate of State Service (DSS) are after his life. Cheating in schools is a huge problem in India but the malpractice took a different, sad turn this week in Bihar city when parents of 10th-grade students climbed the wall of a school building and perched from windows of classrooms as they handed cheat sheets to children writing the tests inside. Photographs and videos showing parents, friends and others scaling the school wall - Spiderman-style - went viral in India today. The video also shows police officers standing nearby watching helplessly. Under Bihar’s anti-cheating law, dozens of 12th  grade students were expelled and their parents detained last month in cases of cheating in tests. But that hasn't stopped the parents. Sad!

5 months after her sister Osiyo Agama was kidnapped, the younger brother of Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Alison-Madueke, Joseph Agama has also been kidnapped. He was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Bayelsa state today. It is absolutely certain that most Igbo campaigners for outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan are so thoughtless that they have lost all forms of self-dignity. When a serious issue is raised about, for instance, the utter deception of Ndigbo by Jonathan through statements like that he would go into exile if by 2015 the 2nd Niger Bridge, they enthusiastically resort to uncultured utterances like “you are an idiot”, “you are a buffoon”, etc. These are utterances, which do not depict good breeding. Hundreds of suspected Boko Haram insurgents invaded Fuyi, Fatakol and other communities bordering Cameroon, Kala Balge and Gamboru Ngala local government areas of Borno state living dozens of people dead, houses destroyed after looting property including live stocks.
