The Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Ignatius Kaigama has said Nigerian government is “wrong” for “punishing” gay Nigerians. Speaking at a press briefing with The Tablet at the Vatican yesterday, the Archbishop stressed that the Catholic Church in Nigeria is opposed to any discrimination of gay people. According to him, after Nigeria adopted a law that hands out 14-year sentences to gay Nigerians earlier this year, he had announced the Church’s support for the legislation. However, there was a 'gross misinterpretation” of this by the media. The Catholic Church, he now says, only supported the elements of the law that set out that marriage is between a man and a woman but is against “the criminalization of people with different sexual orientations”. A Russian security company, Kaspersky Labs has discovered a flaw in cash machines that allows criminals to quickly steal cash from ATM machines. Reuters reports that the Interpol has alerted countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia known to have been targeted – and is carrying out a widespread investigation. It was gathered that Kaspersky Labs discovered the hack, which is enabled by entering a series of digits on the keypad of  ATMs. Infected cash machines can be instructed to dispense 40 notes at once, without a credit or debit card. Kaspersky Labs produced a video showing how the hack was carried out. More details were provided in a blog post. Prior to trying to obtain the cash, targeted machines are infected with malicious software via a boot CD. However, before this could be done, hackers need physical access to the workings of the machine. An Igando Customary Court in Lagos, on Thursday dissolved the 20-year-old marriage between Mr Adetoro Onipede and his wife, Olubunmi because she starved him of sex. President of the court R.I Adeyeri, said that “all efforts to reconcile the couple had proved futile as the petitioner insisted on divorce. “Both parties are no longer husband and wife, they are free to go their separate ways,” Adeyeri ruled. Onipede, 50, had filed a suit on Aug. 21, seeking for the dissolution of his 20-year-old marriage on the ground of sex starvation by his wife. Former President of Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), has dragged the Nigerian Army General Court Martial before a Federal High Court in Abuja, challenging its decision to convict and sentence 12 soldiers to death by firing squad for mutiny and other offences on September 16. It will be recalled that the Military Court Martial had sentenced to death 12 of the 18 soldiers charged for mutiny on May 13 and 14, at Maimalari Cantonment. In Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/708/2014, Agbakoba, on behalf of the 12 condemned soldiers, is challenging the decision of the Court Martial on the ground that its composition was unconstitutional and contrary to Section 36(1) of the Constitution, which guarantees a fair trial to accused persons by a tribunal constituted in such manner as to secure its independence and impartiality.
