From Adeboye To A Sikh Temple…How David Cameron Went From ‘God’ To ‘gods’ [Photos]

Image
I was pleasantly encouraged upon hearing the news this morning that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cameron, received prayers from our very own Nigerian Pastor Enoch Adeboye during the Festival Of Life Conference in London last night! Hoping this news would be reflected in the usually cynical British media, I was left aghast to see the headlines today highlighting Cameron’s visit to a Sikh temple a few hours after praying with the Redeemed faithful. From worshipping God to worshipping gods in a matter of hours! Dave even went to the extent of donning Sikh head apparel and engaging in some form of ‘ritual’ involving the throwing of coins inside a pool and kneeling down to intercede Sikh style. All of this while shoeless. The sharp contrast in events highlights a sad but salient point – Mr Cameron visited Daddy GO not for any ‘spiritual guidance’ or ‘actual prayers’ but to take advantage of 45,000 potential voters in the crowd of Pentecostal Christi

Huge debts await Buhari, in-coming govs

Image
AFTER the euphoria of their electoral victories, one of the major challenges that will confront the President-elect, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), and 20 or 21 new governors is the level of debt stock the out-going administrations will leave behind. According to the Debt Management Office, DMO, the Federal Government has a stock of $6.445 billion in external debt (N1.29 trillion at the rate of one dollar to N200)) and another N7. 9 trillion domestic debt totalling N9.19 trillion, as of December 31, 2014. This is the equivalent of two years budget. The huge debt stock, if not properly managed, can hamper the delivery of democracy dividends. According to external debt figures released by the DMO, Lagos State is the most indebted state in the country with a debt of $1,169,712,848.65 (N233.94 billion). The state had also borrowed N167.5 billion from the bond market. Thus, Lagos is owing at least N401.44 billion. This is one of the issues that Governor-

Ondo Mysterious Disease Is Spiritual As Local Chief Reveals Mystery Behind Deaths

Image
A local chief in Ondo State has explained the “mystery” behind a strange and unknown killer disease that has ravaged a town in the state, killing at least 14 people. The community leader, Moses Enimade, the Oyewoga of Ode Irele in Ondo State, said the disease came as punishment for the “sacrilege” committed against Molokun, the local deity in the area. Mr. Enimade, next in command to the Oba, Cornelius Olanrewaju-Lebi, stated this in Irele on Saturday. No fewer than 14 people have died of severe headaches and blindness in the town recently. There have been no explanation for the disease. Victims have tested negative to Ebola, the deadly and incurable virus that killed thousands across West Africa, including Nigeria. Mr. Enimade debunked the rumour that the deaths were caused by strange disease or Ebola virus. Mr. Enimade said some stubborn youth broke into the inner room of the Molokun shrine on April 15. “Molokun is a deity of the land,” he said. “Only

Fayose begs for forgiveness says he is ready for dialogue with his opponents

Image
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said he is ready for dialogue with his opponents to bring peace to the state. He also asked for forgiveness from those he might have offended, saying “nobody is perfect.” Fayose spoke on Friday at a special prayer session organised for him by the Ansar-udeen Mosque, Atikankan in Ado-Ekiti to celebrate his recent electoral victory at the Supreme Court. The 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have issued a notice of impeachment to the governor, citing eight impeachable offences. The embattled Speaker, Dr. Adewale Omirin, had last week Thursday requested the state Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, to raise a seven-man panel within seven days of receipt of the letter to investigate Fayose and his deputy, Dr. Kolapo Olusola, over allegations of impunity, violence and stalking among other constitutional breaches. Fayose said, “If they say someone has enemies, I’m number o

Nigerian reportedly attacked in Johannesburg

Image
A chilling story from a Nigerian who lives in Centurion, South Africa about an attack on another Nigerian in Johannesburg today. Meanwhile, how many of you have watched those horrible videos on Facebook showing the killing of African immigrants? And they are attacking children. In one video, some children were beaten, tied up and the men poured gasoline on their body. Can't share the videos here...go on Facebook. Can't believe this is happening in 2015.

Mother posts her '15yr old' daughter's photos on twitter, and it got people talking

Image
A 'proud' mum posted these photos of her daughter on twitter a few hours ago and wrote "My baby is 15 today'. Of course, many asked her how this grown person could be 15 and she replied that she was born in 2000. 1, she doesn't look 15 and 2, if she really is, then that's an appropriate outfit for a 15 year old girl to wear...and they told her that. Well, she posted it on social media so she will get our opinions whether asked for it or not They were photos from her birthday party...

He drank rat poison over N1m loan-Accused Widow of Pharmacist

Image
There is nothing to describe what Busayo Olafare is going through at the moment as she languishes in the custody of the Department of Criminal Investigation of the Lagos State Police Command, one week after the suspected suicide of her pharmacist husband, Paul.   Paul was found dead in their Oworonsoki, Lagos home on Sunday, April 12, 2015. His death was initially suspected to have been suicide because a container of a popular rat poison, called ‘Sniper’ was found beside him.   However, his late husband’s relation told the police that his wife might have poisoned him and made it look like suicide.   According to Punch,in a statement made at the DCI by a relation of the deceased, Busayo was found packing her belongings out of their house shortly after her husband’s body was discovered, which was why they suspected that she might be attempting to run away.   But Busayo, in her statement to the police, explained that right from when she first met her husband,

Three suspected armed robbers met their Waterloo in Osogbo, Osun State, as they died after sustaining bullet wounds during a shootout with the operatives of Special-Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in the early hours of Friday.   Saturday  Tribune  gathered that the suspects, who came in an unregistered Lexus car for a robbery operation, went to Oke Baale area of Osogbo, opposite Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC), to attack the residents at about 2.00 a.m.  Some of the residents, it was learnt, sent a distress call to the officer in charge of SARS in Osun State Police Command, DSP Adekunle Omoyele, and he was said to have led a team of operatives to the scene immediately.   Saturday Tribune further gathered that on getting to the scene, the policemen learnt that the armed robbers had robbed one Alhaja Ganiyat Kolapo of her personal belongings while the hoodlums also went away with her Toyota Camry car with registration number LND 847 AJ.   Omoyele and hi

Did Oba Akiolu’s threat work for Ambode? Yes and No!

Image
Below is an article by  Vanguard  on how the threat by Oba of Lagos may have worked for Governor -elect, Ambode  Pa Ikechukwu Okonkwo, a septuagenarian, and his family stayed back in their three-bedroom apartment in Festac Town, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, to monitor reports from his large screen television while the April 11 gubernatorial election lasted. Unlike the previous election, where the aged grandpa had encouraged all his children to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan in the March 28 presidential election, this time, he handed down a warning to all members of the family never to be involved in the gubernatorial election in the state. His reason was not farfetched. The fear of the pronouncement of a first class tradition ruler was the beginning of wisdom. Even though some people believed the recent Oba Akiolu’s tirade was only a mere joke, Pa Okonkwo did not want to leave it to chance as according to him,  “When a king makes a pronouncement on what

The real story behind the 'Fish Rain' in Thailand(Photos)

Image
There was this viral story a few days back about a fish rain in Thailand. Some reports claimed it actually rained fishes and these photos were used to back the claims. Many had already been marvelling at the occurrence . Now,its been revealed there was no fish rain but the fishes fell off a truck . According to Chinese site People's daily A large truck was carrying 13,600 pounds of catfish through the Southeast Guizhou Kaili City Development Zone when the cargo door accidentally opened, causing catfish to scatter along the highway.

Chibok girls kidnapped to present GEJ's govt as incompetent- Doyin Okupe

Image
Below is what the presidential Spokesperson shared this morning on his Facebook page... One of the reasons the Chibok girls were kidnapped was to present Jonathan's administration as incompetent and hold it to ransom against 2015 elections. One of the reasons the BBOG was formed was to sustain and internationalise the embarrassment. One of the reasons President Jonathan lost the election was a national and international conspiracy predicated on this carefully choreographed and assiduously sustained perception. One of the issues that will be in the hand over notes will be the missing girls. What is reasonable and expedient for well meaning men and women of good conscience is to dialogue with the incoming administration on what best new approach to employ to find and rescue the chibok girls. Not much can be achieved, except mischief, by continuing to flog this administration on this matter. I REST MY CASE.

UK Taxpayers face huge bill to recover profits from £50m fraudster (James Ibori)

Image
Here's a report I found on  Standard UK . UK Taxpayers are blaming former Delta state governor James Ibori for a huge new bill. Find the report below...  Taxpayers are facing a “huge” new bill after efforts to force a former Nigerian state governor from London to repay profits from a £50 million fraud were delayed for more than a year. James Ibori, who began his working life as a £5,000-a-year cashier at a Wickes DIY branch in Ruislip, became a multi-millionaire after returning to his homeland and committing a series of scams during an eight-year career running its oil rich Delta State. His wealth allowed him to buy expensive homes, a £12 million jet and a £1 million fleet of cars including a Bentley, Mercedes and armoured Range Rovers. His crimes were detected in a Scotland Yard investigation that led to him being jailed in April 2012 for 13 years for fraud and money laundering. But a decision on how much he will have to repay has now been postponed again,
