Police have apprehended two gangsters for allegedly raping and killing an 18-year-old commercial sex worker, Oluwatosin Ami.The suspects, John-Paul Chukwuebuka, 19; and Ebuka Chimudi, 22; belonged to a gang which specialised in luring young ladies to hotels with the aim of dispossessing them of their belongings and raping them. According to police authorities, on April 10, 2013, two members of the gang posed as customers and visited the Happy Day Hotel, Orile.Oluwatosin was approached by the suspects and she took them into her room at the hotel which she secured at the cost of N3, 500 per day.The suspects were said to have overpowered Oluwatosin and stuffed a cloth in her mouth to prevent her from screaming.

A 32 year old woman named Rahman Raliat, residing at Prince Abolaji Avenue, Imolete, Alaga, Baba Adisa Village, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, has been dragged before the Tinubu Magistrate Court for allegedly stabbing her co-tenant, Sulaimon Jamiu with a broken bottle, PM News reports.  She was charged with a one count charge of felony stabbing occasioning grievous bodily harm.    According to reports, both Raliat and Sulainmon live in a compound where the tenants share a single bathroom and toilet. Joint security officials have rescued about 80 students of the Government Girls’ Secondary School in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State who were abducted by the members of the Boko Haram sect on Monday, April 14, 2014. The girls regained freedom on Wednesday morning after a group of vigilante, local hunters and soldiers went in search for the over one hundred girls abducted. Nigerian Eye  reports : The insurgents, who were carrying the school girls in Tipper Lories, were alleged to have got stuck in the bush while they were trying to crossover some muddy area between Chibok and Askira/Uba.

About 20 villagers including a monarch were killed after gunmen, suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists, attacked two villages in different parts of Borno state on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, security sources and witnesses said. In one of the attacks, the gunmen on Wednesday morning at about 7 a.m. stormed Wala Village, killing 18 villagers and injuring several others. Wala Village is in Gwoza Local Government Area, some 130 km southwest of Maiduguri, the Borno capital. A local government official, who does not want to be named for security reasons, said “We are in difficult times in Gwoza local government; deaths and killings has become a daily affair; 18 people were killed in Wala this morning by the Boko Haram gunmen”.

According to a report by  Premium Times , some victims of  Monday's  bomb blast receiving medical attention at the Asokoro General Hospital in Abuja are currently facing hunger as no one is providing them with food.   One of the survivors, Salome Jim, told Premium Times that she's only received drugs and drips from the hospital management but no one has given her anything to eat. "I have been sitting down here waiting for surgery. I am in pain, I am very hungry. No one has come here to give me food, I can neither walk nor move, the nurses and doctors are nice to me but they didn’t give me food. A 19 year old Pakistani student named Iftikihar Muhammed Arslan, (pictured above) has been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) for possession and attempted smuggling of 25.400kg of heroin said to be worth N228m into Nigeria, Vanguard reports Arslan was apprehended at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport during inward screening on passengers on board a Qatar Airways flight. 25 parcels containing the hard drugs were discovered in his luggage.   The suspect believed to be in a drug cartel through his passport showed that he left Lahore, Pakistan with the drugs to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, then Doha, in Qatar, from where he connected to Lagos. One student, Lim Hyung-min, told broadcaster YTN after being rescued that he and other students jumped into the ocean wearing life jackets and then swam to a nearby rescue boat. While over 100 families are still mourning the tragic death of their people, no fewer than 103 female students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State, were on Monday night abducted by the same dreaded Boko Haram sect believed to have carried out the Abuja attack. Just before the news of the abduction spread on Tuesday, there was pandemonium at the National Assembly as a bomb scare forced Senators and House of Reps members to run for their lives and close their offices. As for the female students, they are now at the teeth of Boko Haram. They were woken up at about 10pm in their hostel by the militants and ordered into four waiting lorries.
