BREAKING: EFCC storms Maina’s $2 million mansion

M obile police officers attached to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday stormed a mansion belonging to embattled civil servant, Abdulrasheed Maina, who has been on the wanted list for about two years. A PREMIUM TIMES reporter who visited the building at No. 10 Hamisu Musa Road, Jabi, around 3:40 p.m. on Monday, saw stern looking police officers giving cover to an operative in mufti who was marking the house in red. The building is believed to have been bought for $2 million. Another of Mr. Maina’s houses located at No. 12, Road 11, Kado Estate is also billed for similar exercise. The whereabouts of the embattled civil servant is not known. President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday ordered his sack and called for an investigation into how he was recalled into the civil service despite being on the wanted list of the EFCC. P resident Muhammadu Buhari has directed the immediate disengagement from service of Mr Abdullahi Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms. In a memo to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the President equally demanded a full report of the circumstances of Maina's recall and posting to the Ministry of Interior. The report is to be submitted to the office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, before the end of work today, Monday, October 23, 2017. Nnamdi Kanu Is In Abaribe’s Custody, FG Tells Court

T he Federal Government has replied to Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe’ s application seeking to withdraw as one of the sureties for the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, describing the application as belated. The government , in its counter – affidavit and written address filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja to oppose Abaribe’ s request , told Abaribe that Kanu was in his custody and he had to produce him for the continuation of his trial. It stated in its counter – affidavit that Abaribe was aware that Kanu “has long violated the bail conditions handed down by this honourable court ” on April 24 , 2017 before September 11 when he claimed to have lost contact with the defendant. The counter – affidavit read in part , “That it was at this point at violating the conditions at the bail that the senator surety ought to surrender the 1 st defendant and or bring up this application; “That this application is belated and ill – timed ;

N2BN FRAUD: Arrest Ex-Pension Boss Now, Sagay, Falana Tell Buhari

T he Chairman , Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof . Itse Sagay (SAN), and prominent lawyer , Femi Falana have called on the President Muhammadu Buhari – led administration to arrest immediately the wanted ex – chairman of the defunct Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina , who has returned to Nigeria . Maina , who fled the country in 2015 after being indicted for allegedly perpetrating fraud to the tune of N2 bn , returned to the country and was posted to the Ministry of Interior based on the recommendation of the Head of Service and was given double promotion . But on Sunday evening , the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission spokesman , Mr . Wilson Uwujaren , maintained that Maina was still wanted . When asked if Maina would be arrested by the commission, the EFCC spokesman refused to speak further . PHOTOS: 16 killed in Maiduguri suicide bomb attacks

T he Police Command in Borno on Monday said 16 persons were killed and 18 others sustained injuries in multiple suicide bomb attacks on Sunday at Muna area of Maiduguri. The Police Commissioner, Damian Chukwu, confirmed the incident in a text message sent to journalists in Maiduguri. Mr. Chukwu said the incident occurred when a male suicide bomber detonated an explosive device in a crowded area, killing 13 people and wounding five others. He said two other female suicide bombers also detonated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) strapped to their bodies and injured 13 persons. “On 22/10/2017 at about 20: 20 hours a male suicide bomber detonated IED strapped to his body at Muna Garage, killing himself and thirteen persons, while five others sustained injuries. “In another development at Muna Dalti, two female suicide bombers detonated IEDs killing themselves and injuring 13 others. “The Injured persons were referred to the University of Maiduguri Teaching
