I’ll Sack Wenger If I Buy Arsenal – Dangote

N igerian billionaire and Africa’s business mogul Aliko Dangote has expressed his desire to buy London club Arsenal and declared his first order of business would be to sack club’s manager Arsene Wenger. Dangote is a Gunners fan has never hidden his wish to purchase the club even though current owner Stan Kroenke has no plans to sell. Dangote spoke hypothetically about what he would do if he was to take over at the Emirates. He told Bloomburg: “The first thing I would change is the coach. He has done a good job, but someone else should also try his luck.” The 60-year-old pledged to make his move for the club following the construction of an £8.5 billion oil refinery in Lagos. Senate moves to separate tourism from information ministry

T he Senate on Thursday said it was working toward separating tourism and culture from the Ministry of Information. The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, made this known at the opening of a public hearing on the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) Act 2004 (Repeal and Re-enactment) Bill, 2017. Mr. Saraki, who was represented by the Deputy Leader of the Senate, Bala Na’Allah, said that the separation was imperative to enable the tourism sector enjoy autonomy for rapid development. “Our ministries have never been helpful in anything developmental. So, the long and short of the story is that the Senate wants to give freedom to the parastatals, particularly the culture and tourism sector,” he said. P resident Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, in London. This was revealed in a Facebook post by presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, who also shared a picture of the meeting. Mr. Buhari has been in London for over 100 days receiving medical treatment for a yet to be disclosed ailment.
