Vice-President Namadi Sambo on Monday presented the handover notes of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to the transition committee of the incoming government, with a promise that members of the outgoing cabinet will make themselves available for clarifications when needed.  Ahmed Joda’s, chairman of the transition committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received the report on behalf of the incoming administration of Muhammadu Buhari. Management of the University of Ibadan has asked all its students to vacate the school premises and proceed on a mandatory two weeks mid-semester break due to the prevailing fuel scarcity. The directive was contained in a statement sent out by the school's director of Communication, Mr Muhammed Oladejo today May 25th. The directive came after students of the Independence hall, one of the hostels in the campus, staged a protest over the unavailability of power & water in their hostel.

The Nigerian army says thousands of foreign currency was found on a Boko Baram leader killed during its operation in Dikwa, Borno state on May 23rd. The terrorist who is also an Amir by status and believed to be of foreign descent, is among about 30 terrorist fighters who died in the encounter while many others fled with wounds. The major oil marketers association of Nigeria (MOMAN),Nigeria union of petroleum and natural gas workers (NUPENG) and the petroleum and natural gas senior staff association (PENGASSAN) have agreed to call off the strike. They have also reached an agreement with the federal government to begin lifting of petroleum products across the country “in six hours”.  According to Magnus Abe, chairman of the senate committee on petroleum resources, the resolution was reached after a meeting of MOMAN and the committee with‎ Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, minister of finance and coordinating minister for the economy; Joseph Dawha, group managing director of the Nigeria national petroleum corporation (NNPC) and major stakeholders in the oil and gas sector.
