LESS than 14 days to the presidential election, a number of states are emerging as votes swinging blocs that will shape the outcome of the polls In a  VANGUARD  report, with just two weeks to the 2015 presidential election, there is no doubt that votes in states with high density registered voters, would most likely determine who wins the contest. An in depth analysis of the emerging electoral map, showed that these states have 30, 015, 291 registered voters, representing nearly 43 percent of the total number of registered voters across the country which the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC pegged at 70,383,427. In the 2011 presidential elections, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, retd, who was the candidate of the de

Why I don’t wear pants -Baby Blanche

Image
Due to the kind of clothes she likes to wear and is comfortable in, Baby Blanche has revealed in an interview with Showbiz that she hardly wears panties when she’s going out. “I love all kinds of lingerie that make a woman feminine because I’m a woman, but I hardly wear panties. This is not because I don’t want to wear them but because the clothes I love to wear wouldn’t permit me to,” she told Showbiz. “I try as much as possible to act as a lady and not to let my panty lines show just because I like to wear dresses that hug my figure. So if I wear clothes and the outline of my panty is glaring like that I don’t like it,” she explained. “Being a lady is not only about wearing make-up and Brazilian hair but also comprises the propriety of whatever you’re wearing,” says Baby Blanche. She adds that she does not worry much about thoughts that she may be sexually assaulted by unscrupulous men because she makes sure she doesn’t go to awkward places at awkward hou

Presidential Debate: Nigerians urge Buhari to participate

Image
Nigerians are urging the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC and a former Head of State , Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) to participate in a debate with other presidential candidates in the 2015 elections, so that the electorates can vote wisely.  Reacting to the decline of the APC and its presidential candidate to participate in the debate organized by the Nigeria Election Debate Group, NEDG, Nigerians took to their Twitter pages to express frustration and urged Gen. Buhari to reconsider the stance of his party. Using the hashtag, #BuhariMustDebate, they argued that a debate will offer the electorates the opportunity to listen to the programmes of the candidates, thus, making it easier for them (electorates) to vote for the best candidate, especially now that the leading political parties are engaged in mudslinging. The hashtag, #BuhariMustDebate, was created by the Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, R

Chadian aircraft bomb Borno town in anti-Boko Haram raid

Image
A Chadian military airplane stationed at the airport of N’Djamena Chadian aircraft on Saturday bombed the Nigerian town of Gamboru in a raid targeting Islamist extremist group Boko Haram, security sources said. A raid was carried out around midday by two fighter jets on the town in Nigeria’s far northeast along the Cameroon border, sources from Chad and Cameroon said on condition of anonymity. Boko Haram overran the town several months ago as part of its campaign to seize territory in the region and create an Islamic state. The Boko Haram uprising has become a regional crisis, with the four directly affected countries — Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria — agreeing to boost cooperation to contain the threat. Nigeria’s military said on Thursday that its fighter jets had bombed the northeast town of Malam Fatori, also controlled by Boko Haram. Witnesses and some media reports said troops and airforce planes from Chad were also involved in that operation on Nig

He has been so scared of living there since the incident .Now, his pain is bringing him joy as a stranger's fundraising effort to raise  £500 to help him move house has gotten a whooping donation of more than £100,000. Mailonline  reports When local resident Katie Cutler heard about the shocking attack - which left Mr Barnes with a broken collar bone and scared to return home - she set up a fund to help the 67-year-old. Mr Barnes, speaking on BBC Breakfast this morning about the donations, said:  'I just don't believe it.'I've heard of fundraising for charities but I've only got a fractured collar bone. I didn't expect th

Read Etcetera's Memo To Buhari's Supporters..

Stupid is a word that has a broad range of applications, but it generally means a person lacks rudimentary intelligence or the ability to reason. It can also imply a congenital lack of capacity for reasoning, or a permanent state of daze or slow-mindedness.  However one defines or applies the word stupid, you can hardly think of the word without directly relating it to the utterances of some Buhari’s supporters; especially the supposedly literate ones. Over the past week, it became apparent that the level of stupidity inherent in those inclined to support certain politicians at all cost is beyond comprehension. In fact, it is frightening that so many Nigerians of voting age lack the fundamental reasoning ability of a second-grader and are even less-informed about basic facts than a kindergarten.  I have heard some of the most bizarre ideas peddled by some Buhari’s supporters and I am really concerned about the future of this country. I have heard troubling statement

SECRET REVEALED: Eating apple daily increases sexual arousal in women –Study

Image
It is a common saying that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. But beyond the health benefits of apple for both men and women, it seems to have a lot to contribute to the sexual satisfaction of women, as it has been found to improve their sex lives. Thus, there is a link between apple and sexual performance for women. Previous findings have shown that eating apple has many benefits, including its ability to reduce the risk of diabetes and heart attack, ward off breast cancer, lower blood fat levels in post menopausal women and reduce the risk of stroke. In fact, eating apple everyday for six months was found to cut cholesterol by almost a quarter, apart from the fact that it prevents dementia (loss of brain functions that occurs with certain diseases) and improves neurological health by reducing cellular death. These were attributed to its high-fibre content and that it produces more saliva to reduce tooth decay and detoxify the liver. Interestingly, apple
