E-PAYMENT IN CHURCH? David Oyedepo’s Winners Chapel Introduces E-Payment For Tithes And Offering

The founder of Winners Chapel and Covenant University, Bishop David Oyedepo has introduced a new method of collecting tithes and offering in his church as against the regular way of collecting it. Bishop David Oyedepo introduced e-transact for the collection of tithes and offering in the church. Reports say there is now a big notice board set up at the entrance of the university situated at Ota along the Idiroko road, Ogun State, which says: 'Pay your tithe and offering on the go: For tithe, dial *389*77* Amount # and For offering, dial *389*78* Amount #'. However most church members have denied knowledge of the introduction of the e-payment method, maybe because it was made 'strictly' for the church's university students. How A 35-Year Old House Wife Stabbed Her Brother-In Law To Death

Some stories are just unbelievable. Obiageli Oriuwa, pictured above, killed her brother in-law, a medical doctor because she wanted him out of his father's house. She is married to the doctor's elder brother and they both lived in the said house with their wives and children. She has been fighting him to leave the house with his family, because the house belongs to her husband, since he was the first son of their father. The unbelievable however happened on Tuesday, when Obi stabbed the doctor to death after a short argument. Read teh full story after the cut. 39 New Subjects Introduced By WAEC

The West African Examinations Council has announced the introduction of 39 new subjects in its examinations.  The Council's Acting Head, Test Development Division, Mrs. Olayinka Ajibade, who announced this, said the new subjects would commence in this year's May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination. Ajibade said this while delivering a paper titled "The New Senior Secondary Education Curriculum in Nigeria: Implications for Assessment" at the council's monthly seminar in Lagos on Friday. The fresh initiative, she said, was in accordance with the Nigerian Education Research and Development Council's new secondary school curriculum. The NERDC is the body responsible for reviewing primary and secondary schools' curricula in the country. She said, "The implementation of the new SSCE curricula began in September 2011, meaning that the maiden public examinations based on the new/ revised curricula are expected to be held in May/ June 2014.

TRAGEDY: Pregnant Woman Stabbed To Death During Labour In Delta

Tragedy struck at the oil rich city of Warri, Delta State at the weekend when a pregnant woman and an unidentified young man were stabbed to death by a suspected mad man. It was gathered that the unidentified expectant mother was in labour last Saturday morning and while waiting for a taxi to take her to the hospital along the notorious Mac-Dermott Road, the mad man attacked her with a knife. Daily Sun gathered that the suspected lunatic rushed at the woman and a young man, who wanted to protect her, was first stabbed to death. Sources told Daily Sun that people were 'scared stiff' of the assailant who brandished other dangerous weapons. The pregnant woman, said to be in her early thirties, was rushed to a nearby hospital but she later gave up the ghost. It was further gathered that the husband of the deceased expectant mother was not at home when the incident happened. Meanwhile, the remains of the victims have been deposited at a hospital morgue even as residents
