He is one of President Goodluck Jonathan's most vocal supporter but it seems Asari Dokubo is now agreeing with Governor Rotimi Amaechi that President Goodlcuk Jonathan has failed South-South and Nigerians. Asari, at a press conference in Abuja, declared that President Jonathan has lost the support of his political base due to the failure of his government to deliver on its promises. The ex-militant leader said: “I want to start with an Ijaw proverb, which says: the eyes watched its seven children to death. Instead of advising them, it was just looking at them until they died, while the mouth talked its only child to life and success.  “We have continued as Ijaw people and the entire Niger Delta and South-South to support the presidency of President Goodluck Jonathan, but a time has come when silence cannot be golden.

A woman in Lagos has been apprehended by police after it was alleged that she assaulted her daughter and caused her serious injury.  The woman, identified as Mrs. Maxwell, was arrested after reports that she burnt her daughter, Blessing, with a hot iron. Mrs Maxwell is said to have injured her child because she (Blessing) had taken some baby food.   reports : Information  gathered that the incident came to light after a neighbour, who lived within the Police College Barracks, Ikeja, with the Maxwells, allegedly called the authorities of the LMNPS to complain about Blessing’s condition. Blessing’s father is said to be a police corporal.

For failure to return to classrooms, the Senate of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has sacked all academic staff on its payroll with immediate effect. The sack order was made known by the Public Relations Officers (PRO) of the institution, Mr Chike Ezenwa, while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in Owerri, through telephone. According to him, the senate of the university had declared all the positions of academic staff in the institution, adding that they would be advertised starting from Monday, December 2.

The Nigerian sports ministry has  embarked on an operation to recruit hawkers who sell items on major roads across the country. The sports minister,  Mr Akpos said “This is something we should have done a long time ago, we have many people who sell things on the roads and they are always in motion, running up and down to sell their goods. Some of them even run faster than many cars, these are raw talents wasting away. "The federal ministry of sports has decided to work with these hawkers, especially the ones that sell Gala, they run like sport cars. One of them chased me from Oshodi to my house in Victoria Island one day because I forgot to pay him his money, what was really surprising was  that he even got to my house before me even though I was driving.  These guys have what it takes to bring Nigeria all the gold medals when it comes to  athletics.
