I was so tired last night, I slept off. Didn't watch the match. I tried but couldn't keep my eyes open..:-) Woke up this morning to hear we won. Yay! I knew we would conquer!!! Go Super Eagles! Meanwhile, presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati released photos of President Jonathan and some of his aides watching the Nigeria - Bosnia World Cup match and then celebrating as Nigeria won by 1-0. Peter Odemwingie dedicated the goal he brilliantly scored in the Nigeria-Bosnia match to his newborn son and that of the guy beside him. Who is he? Not very familiar with our current Super Eagles players. I know their names, just not what some of them look like.

The acting chief operations officer of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Hlaudi Motsoeneng is under probe for accepting a 22 year old who was given to him as a gift. (girl circled). According to local media, Motsoeneng was given the young woman, along with a cow and a calf, by a lobby group of traditional leaders in Thohoyandou, in Limpopo province, who are seeking greater exposure of their culture. A Soweto-based newspaper reported last week that about 10 half-naked women were lined up and Motsoeneng was asked to pick one. He picked a human resources management student named Vanessa Mutswari. Vanessa is pictured above bare-breasted next to him, standing behind a trailer on which the other gifts, a cow and a calf had been loaded. And she's so happy to be given out as a gift. Continue... Ayo Fayose Beats Kayode Fayemi To Win Ekiti Governorship Election As Governor Fayemi Concedes Defeat

People’s Democratic Party Candidate and former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has defeated the incumbent governor, Kayode Fayemi to win the governorship race in Ekiti state as earlier projected by Saharareporters. Mr. Fayose defeated Mr. Fayemi by a wide margin, polling 203, 090 votes while Fayemi, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) scored 120, 433 votes. The third contender from the Labor Party, Opeyemi Bamidele, only managed to win 18, 135 votes. The election which was nearly marred by unprecedented use of security agencies to intimidate members of the APC was largely peaceful on polling day. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer, Professor Isaac Azuzu made the official announcement in Ado Ekiti earlier today. Governor Kayode Fayemi has conceded defeat in Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Ekiti State and offered congratulations to the winner, Ayo Fayose.
