There was a fatal accident in Onitsha this afternoon. A Tanker laden with fuel which was coming from Awka and moving towards Asaba failed brake at the ever busy Asaba Park at Upper Iweka, Onitsha and exploded upon crashing into the park, burning more than 20 people beyond recognition and also burning 10 commercial buses parked at the park. Most of the dead bodies have been deposited at the Toronto Hospital Morgue by FRSC Officials.  See the photos but but please be warned, it's horrific..

President Buhari this night made some appointments into his cabinet. According to a member of the Buhari media organization, Femi Adeshina, the MD of Sun newspaper has been appointed Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity while Shehu Garba, who was until now the Director of Buhari Media Organization, is now Senior Special Assistant (Media & Publicity). The president also approved the appointment of Mal. Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure as the State Chief of Protocol. All of their appointments take immediate effect.

Football legend John Fashanu's daughter, Amal Fashanu, has gotten involved in the divorce drama between her dad and his estranged wife, Abigail Igwe. Defending her dad and slamming Abigail ahead of their divorce hearing tomorrow June 1st, Amal called her step-mum a 'black widow' who had her dad under her spell and physically abused him. It was wailing and weeping at the popular Upper Iweka area of Onitsha, the commercial capital of Anambra State as a merciless inferno consumed many and wounded scores others on Sunday afternoon. The fire was caused by a fuel-laden tanker, which fell and spilled its content and then burst into flames, catching many commuters, hawkers and prospective passengers unawares, even as many escaped with various degree of injuries. Eyewitnesses speak of a gory spectacle of completely burnt human beings dotting the vicinity of the Asaba Park, where the inferno was said to have also burnt about 20 buses loading passengers to head to the nearby Asaba, capital of Delta State. Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members yesterday night at about 7pm stormed Ngalda town in Fika Local Government Area of Yobe state destroying all government property in sight.
