Leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteers Force, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has declared that President Goodluck Jonathan may not rule beyond 2015. Dokubo-Asari based his statement on the facts that the President had lost the support of his political stronghold-South/East and South/South, going by the result of the 2011 presidential election. The Ijaw activist had in March this year declared that Jonathan would occupy the Presidential Villa for eight years from 2011. But at a news briefing on Friday in Abuja, he made a U-turn and declared that it would be difficult for Jonathan to go beyond 2015 because of the ‘greedy’ people around him. He said these people were responsible for the current rift between Jonathan and ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo. A very large number of terrorists have met their final waterloo after falling into an ambush laid for them by Nigerians troops between Maiduguri and Damboa, Borno State on Friday. Security sources close to the ongoing mopping operation will determine the number of the terrorists who died in the encounter. The clash followed the troops’ move to stop the terrorists, who were in the process of attacking the electricity engineers working to restore power to parts of Borno State. A large number of the terrorists died in the process while their improvised explosive devise (IED) laden Hilux truck vehicle was destroyed. According to a report by   AP , Boko Haram members are turning their guns on elderly people, & killed about 50 of them this week in a new tactic to instill more fear in some Northern areas... Residents from five villages say people too elderly to flee Gwoza local government area are being rounded up and taken to two schools where the militants open fire on them. The villages are about 130 kilometers (80 miles) southeast of Maiduguri, in Borno "What they are doing now is to assemble the aged people - both men and women ... and then they just open fire on some of them," said Muhammed Gava, a spokesman for civil defense groups in the area.  More than 50 people had been killed at Government Day Secondary School in Gwoza, he said. This graphic video shows Boko Haram men amputating the hands of two people accused of stealing. According to what was reported, one was accused of stealing of N600k and returned only N20k but when his house was searched, they found an extra N500k. The body of a teenage student nurse has been found lying beside a road after she had been killed and then skinned. Kassandra Bravo, 19, from Uruapan, Mexico, is reported by  excelsior.com.mx  to have told friends in a Facebook post that her stepfather had sexually assaulted her and also accused him of murder – which he denies. She vanished on December 3 and her mother Angeles, 41, raised the alarm when she did not turn up at a babysitting job with family friends. Police issued a missing person notice for the teenager and three days later, her body was discovered lying beside a road near the village of Las Cocinas, between Uruapan and Los Reyes. A post-mortem revealed she had been strangled until she passed out and then skinned. According to Sunrise Sports Executive producer, Toyin Ibitoye, a center referee named Charles Ozigbo (pictured above) was assaulted by Nigerian football fans during a match between Rangers Bee of Kaduna and Kwara United of Ilorin in Abuja yesterday December 19th.  The referee was reportedly attacked after he gave a penalty to one of the clubs. The supporters of the opposing club entered the football field and attacked the referee bringing the match to an abrupt halt. The match was subsequently cancelled.
