The Federal government has no plans to increase the pump price of PMS. The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Danladi Kifasi, on Thursday assured Nigerians that the Federal Government has no plans to increase the pump price of petrol. Mr. Kifasi said this in a statement made available in Abuja. He emphasised that government has no plans to increase the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, from the prevailing price of N97 per litre. The Permanent Secretary dismissed fears in some quarters about an impending price hike describing it as "unfounded".

Anxiety is mounting over the sudden disappearance of the General Overseer of Christ Worshippers Church with headquarters at Osubi in Effurun, Warri, Delta State, Prophet Duromola Adedayo Samuel. The strange incident has left many confused as to whether Prophet Duromola met his death in the ghastly auto crash that occurred between 6.00pm and 8.00 p.m. along Akure-Ilesa expressway, or he disappeared. When the wife, Prophetess Eseoghene Blessing Duromola, was contacted, she said Prophet Samuel went to a mountain at Ilesa, with a promise to return to Akure to pick her and the children to Warri for the end of the year vigil but that did not happen as he has not been seen since after the accident.

One sad incident in the closing weeks of 2013 had left me outraged about the endless crimes committed against Nigerian workers. My anger is also directed at the Nigerian government and the Nigeria Labour Congress for condoning this exploitation. It is possible for those reading this to accuse me of being xenophobic. But far from it, I am not a racist; neither do I hate people of other cultures. I am a Nigerian with friends that cut across racial boundaries. But my anger is with the Lebanese, our inept government and its corrupt institutions that encourage them. Now, the impunity has to stop.
