Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state says he goes to the beer parlour every  Friday  to meet with the commoners in his state. Fayose said this today in Abuja while explaining to newsmen the concept of the 'stomach infrastructure' he initiated in his state, saying it doesn't only mean sharing of food and money to the people..  "I go to beer parlour  on Friday  to stay with the common men there. Governance is not church;  it is about diverse characters and you must relate with them as such. Christmas is coming. Why do people go out of their ways to be shopping or doing other things if it is not just to make people merry? So, I’m grooming chicken, buying rice, yams, plantain, and the rest of them. I am sure if I give it to families during the festive period, they will be happy. So, stomach infrastructure is a way of life.” he said

Judging from the recent Ekiti elections where bags of rice were shared to potential voters by contesters of the Governorship seat, it seems that rice is the popular food of choice of Nigerians.  Photos of bags of rice branded with President Jonathan’s image surfaced online. It is not clear whether the rice campaign is being done by the the President’ campaign team or overzealous supporters.

I can't verify the authenticity of this photo but according to the person who shared it on Facebook,  Jibrilla Madu Gadzama, the National Coordinator of the APC National Youth Vanguard, he said it's r esidents of Mubi village in Adamawa state fleeing after yesterday's attack by Boko Haram men.

Emir of Kano, Alhaji Mohammed Sanusi II, in company of  members of The Kano Emirate  visited President Jonathan at Aso Rock Villa earlier today October 30th. The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria was reportedly at the Villa to reconcile with President Jonathan after the rift between them following Sanusi's sack from office as CBN governor.

Apple Inc CEO, Tim Cook, 53, revealed today October 30th that he is gay. Tim, who became CEO when he succeeded Steve Jobs on August 24th 2011, has never discussed his sexual preference in public before today but said that many of his colleagues knew he was gay. 24yr old British-Nigerian lady, Joy Williams (pictured above) has died after a failed  £2,000 b utt enlargement surgery in Bangkok, Th ailand. The young lady's older brother, Anietie, who lives in Nigeria, said the family didn't even know she'd traveled to Thailand. It's a story about a 300level English Language student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Annabel Nzubechukwu Edeh, who has not been seen since she left a night club with an unknown man many weeks ago in Awka, Anambra state. The coroner conducting an inquest into the cause of the building collapse at The Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Wednesday, threatened to order the arrest of T.B Joshua, the church’s founder, if he fails to honour the invitation extended to him. Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe said the court does not owe anyone an explanation for its decision to invite Mr. Joshua. Mr. Joshua, whose real name is Temitope Balogun Joshua, is billed to testify at the inquest on November 5. Over 115 people died when a six storey guest house belonging to the church collapsed on September 12. “If he doesn’t come, he will be arrested, please advise him,” Mr. Oyetade told the church’s counsel at the inquest. “The sheriff said he has served him (a witness summons) and I have the evidence of that. A 32-year-old man, Mr. Simon Mbam, of Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has committed suicide after he was tortured by some villagers for allegedly stealing N1,000 from a shop in the market. The victim, who jumped into a pond in the area last weekend, found himself in the mess when he left his house in the evening of the fateful day to buy drinks with his friends. While late Simon and his friends were busy sipping their drinks, the owner of the shop raised an alarm over a missing N1,000 in his carton of drinks, but no customer admitted to haven taken the money. The alarm raised by the shop owner attracted villagers who stormed the scene and gave the suspects till the following day to return the money or face the consequences. Passengers and other users of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos were on Wednesday thrown into panic as a suspected Ebola patient was flown into the country by Royal Air Maroc in the early hours of the day. The Moroccan airline arrived Lagos from Casablanca at 6am. The victim, one Theophilus Onnakhinon, a Nigerian, was said to have been flown into the country by the airline, while his younger brother, Chinedu Eroka, absconded from Sierra Leonean authorities. As at the time of filing this report, it was not clear why Eroka absconded from the Sierra Leone. A source close to the Port Health Services at the airport, who spoke on condition of anonymity, explained that the passenger had already been treated for the Ebola Virus Disease and declared cured. A 22 year old woman identified as Ifeoma Okechukwu has been arrested after she allegedly killed an unidentified man who she claimed tried to rape her at her Atlantic View Estate, Alpha Beach Road, Lekki home where she lived with her uncle. The incident happened on Monday October 27th.
