Image
A Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia, Abia State, has struck out the suit filed before it by Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba against All Progressives Grand Alliance and others over the governorship ticket of the party in the last April elections, saying it lacked merit. Ufomba had dragged APGA to court, claiming that he was the authentic governorship candidate of the party in Abia State and not Dr. Alex Otti, who contested the election on the party’s ticket. In the suit, Ufomba argued that Chief Victor Umeh, the then national chairman of the party, was not the chairman and that the primary elections conducted by Umeh leadership and monitored by INEC was illegal. Joined in the suit were APGA, Dr. Alex Otti, Chief Victor Umeh and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Aliyu added that funds believed to be coming from SURE-P are actually from the federation account. The governor said this in Minna at the inauguration of a three-star hotel constructed jointly by the Niger State Development Company Limited and the State SURE-P. He believed that a total removal of subsidy from petroleum products by the Federal Government remains the best solution to stop the endemic corruption in the system. Aliyu said, “I have been vindicated. When some years back I took a principled position as one of the few governors who said ‘remove fuel subsidy’. It is a cartel for corruption. “Many people did not understand that time, some publicists didn’t agree with me. They said ‘don’t remove it, it is the common man that will suffer’, but I said ‘which common man, when already the time you are talking about subsidy

Heartbreaking Story Of How A Man Killed His Own Son

Image
Heartbreaking story told by a mother (Daniel at 2years old and Jeremy a newborn). Read below... My ex-husband and I got married because I was pregnant. It was a stupid reason to get married, I know, but we were 23 and there was pressure from parents—basically from everyone – so we went ahead with it. John and I had been dating for about a year, and in February 2000, we were husband and wife. My pregnancy was a tough one. I was put on bed rest halfway through, and at about 33 weeks I felt something that I thought was my water breaking. I was just past 35 weeks when I had Jeremy, but he’d gone for two weeks with very little fluid, so it was as if he was delivered at 33 weeks. When he was born on May 27, the doctors said Jeremy was healthy, but I noticed right away that he cried all the time. Not just cry, scream. It wa
