F ollowing the approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), President Buhari today signed two instruments namely: a. The Instrument of Ratification of the Agreement between the Govt of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Govt of the Republic of Singapore for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and Capital Gains. b. The Instrument of Ratification of the MoU among the Govt of Nigeria; the Swiss Federal Council & the Int'l Development Association on the Return, Monitoring & Management of Illegally-Acquired Assets Confiscated by Switzerland and to be Restituted to the Fed Rep of Nigeria. With the execution of these instruments, Nigeria’s trade relations with Singapore and income therefrom are expected to rise, while the return of illegal assets will not only boost our anti-corruption drive, but also provide additional funds for critical infrastructure.

T he presidency says it has proof to back up its claims that Former president Goodluck Jonathan withdrew N100 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, few weeks to the 2015 general election which he lost to President Buhari. Recall that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at a recent function in Abuja, alleged that the former president's admiistration, withdrew N100 billion from the CBN which they ''essentially shared'' to some persons, weeks before the election. A source in the presidency who spoke to Vanguard, said there are documents to back up this claims which has been denied by the former president's media aide, Reno Omokri. According to a report by Moskovsky Komsomolets, the founder of the MMM series of financial pyramid schemes, Mavrodi, died in Moscow at the age of 62. Mavrodi was taken to a city hospital from a bus stop overnight Monday, March 26, after he felt weakness and pain in the chest area. “The emergency team has failed to save his life.
