Read: German Developer responsible for #HeartBleed Bug in #OpenSSL #HeartBeat

We have already read so many articles on Heartbleed, one of the biggest iNternet threat that recently came across by a team of security engineers at Codenomicon, while improving the SafeGuard feature in Codenomicon's Defensics security testing tools.  The story has taken every media attention across the World, as the bug opened doors for the cyber criminals to extract sensitive data from the server's memory and almost every major site have been affected by it. UNINTENTIONAL BIRTH OF HEARTBLEED More than two years ago, German programmer Robin Seggelmann introduced a new feature called "Heartbeat" in the most secured open source encryption protocol, OpenSSL, which is used by several social networks, search engines, banks and other websites to enable secure connections while transmitting data. But introducing heartbeat feature cost him dearly, as here the most critical bug resides. Dr. Seggelmann allegedly was just trying to improve OpenSSL and working on an update and w

VIRUS ALERT: #Heartbleed Bug Test! Check List Of Computer Virus Affected Websites, Do's and Don'ts Of Changing Your Passwords

Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and other top websites are scrambling to reassure users that their pages are now safe from the Heartbleed bug. As news of the OpenSSL software flaw spread across the nation, many users simply changed their account passwords. Then came the message that password changes on unsecure sites are fruitless, and panic set in.   While many top sites implemented the Fix OpenSSL software early on and informed users of the renewed safety, thousands of sites have either not implemented a fix, or have not communicated their website's status to accountholders. The Daily Mail created a list detailing who was affected, whether the problem has been fixed, and whether a password change is recommended. Affected major sites include Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Google search, Gmail, Yahoo and Yahoo Mail, Netflix, YouTube, Amazon web services, Dropbox, and LastPass. Some websites, such as http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/ , allow visitors to search a domain name to see if the websi

#MH370. Co-pilot of missing plane tried to make call from his phone after plane vanished but 'was abruptly cut off'

The Malaysian plane has not been found 35 days after it went missing and according to new reports, the co-pilot of the missing flight tried to make a desperate call from his mobile phone after the aircraft went missing but was abruptly cut off... UK Daily Mail reports Investigators have learned the call was made from a mobile phone which belonged to Fariq Abdul Hamid (left) as the Boeing 777 flew low near the island of Penang, on the north of Malaysia's west coast. It was understood the aircraft, with 239 people on board, was flying low enough for the nearest telecommunications tower to pick up Fariq's signal. The call ended abruptly. However, contact was definitely established with a telecommunications sub-station in Penang state. Experts have said it is possible for a mobile phone to be connected to a telecommunications tower at an altitude of 7,000 feet - which is low for a large jet like the Boeing 777 unless it was flying at high speed to maintain height. Yesterday it

Shocker! Read How CBN Makes #Money From Dirty Naira Notes In Circulation

Nigerians may continue to spend dirty and mutilated notes if findings by Saturday Punch are anything to go by. Nigeria's currency, the Naira, in all its denominations, has been severely mutilated, overused and over-circulated such that it has become an issue of luck to come across a clean note. However, Saturday Punch learnt that the scarcity of the clean notes is due, in part, to the fact that the Central Bank of Nigeria has refused to recycle the old notes while it imposes charges on commercial banks that want to change the dirty notes to cleaner ones, thereby turning it into a money-making practice. Access to clean notes is now by luck, special request with pleas and sometimes, financial inducement and purchase from sellers who have taken to the streets to sell the clean notes to legitimate customers who have no access to them. Many Nigerians wonder why the CBN has refused to withdraw the bad notes from circulation and replace them with clean ones.

I am proud to be Nigerian, says #Hollywood actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor

Image
A London-born Nigerian Hollywood star, Chiwetel Ejiofor, on Friday said he was proud to be identified as a Nigerian. Mr. Ejiofor said this in Lagos at the premiere of a movie "Half of a Yellow Sun'' based on a novel written by a Nigerian novelist, Chimamanda Adichie. He said that there was a wrong impression that he claimed not to be a Nigerian. "During the period of publicising "Twelve Years a Slave", I was asked where I was originally from. "I suppose I was trying to give an honest answer about where I was born, and so, I said London, which is where I was born. "And to me, it was a surprising reaction that people then concluded that I didn't identify as Nigerian. "Of course, I am Nigerian-British, but if they ask me where I was born, I can't say Enugu, because I wasn't born in Enugu, but, it doesn't mean that I don't identify as Nigerian. "I am proud of being Nigerian that I am extraordinarily happy to be here to mak
