Nigeria Declares Nnamdi Kanu Wanted. Radio Biafra Signals Jammed By NBC

Image
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Dr. Sade Yemi-Esan, on Tuesday said the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation has succeeded in stopping the signal of Radio Biafra because it was not licensed. Yemi-Esan disclosed this to State House correspondents shortly after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari of her ministry’s activities inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja. She said the commission was currently working with security agencies to apprehend those behind the illegal radio. She said, “We also gave a report on Radio Biafra. Right now, the signals from the radio have been jammed successfully by the NBC. “The commission is also working with security agencies to get those that are behind that radio because it is an illegal radio. It is not licensed by anybody to be on the airwaves in Nigeria.” She added that the President had directed her ministry to put machinery in place to end the scourge of piracy in the nation’s movie industry. She said the P

Bukola Saraki Releases A Press Statement After Tweets Went Wrong

Image
Bukola Saraki released a Press statement after his twitter on Service chiefs appointment not subject to approval by the senate. Saraki Clears Air on Tweets Concerning Service Chiefs Screening PRESS RELEASE The attention of the Media Office of the Senate President has been drawn to a story making the rounds to the effect that the Senate does not need to screen or confirm the new Service Chiefs appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari. However, we want to make it abundantly clear that based on inquiries made to the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki on whether the Senate was consulted before the appointment of new Service Chiefs was announced, he had in response tweeted that the appointment of Service Chiefs is the exclusive function of the President as stipulated by the Constitution. Let it be known that his comment is now being misinterpreted to say the Senate will neither screen nor confirm the new Service Chiefs. This is far from the truth.

Customer shades the heck out of Airtel on twitter. SEE Airtel's response

Image
Some people have no chill. So Airtel told the customer that they have followed him on Twitter so he can send them a direct message and the guy replied saying he's trying to follow back but their network is not letting him (meaning it's slow or not going at all) and would use a competitor's network to follow them. Boom! And Airtel was so gracious in their response! Nice one!

Amazing moment two lions attack & kill an Antelope while tourists watch from their cars

Image
The moment two lions pursued an antelope from the bushes into a road at a game reserve in South Africa was captured on camera by British tourist, Carolyn Dunford. And amazingly, the tourists who were passing through in a convoy when the incident happened wound down their car windows to watch the spectacle. This is surprising to say the least because just recently, a tourist was attacked and killed when a lion jumped into her car from her open car window at a Games Reserve. Guess these ones didn't hear that story. Anyway, the lions did kill the Antelope. See the dramatic photos below Photo credit: Carolyn Dunford

Senate President Saraki Doesn’t Know New Military Service Chiefs Need Senate Confirmation

Image
Even though the matter of whether Nigeria’s military chiefs must be screened and approved by the National Assembly had long been settled by the courts, the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, on Monday claimed that the Service chiefs appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari do not need any clearance by the upper legislative chamber.  Mr. Buhari had told the new Service Chiefs shortly after their appointments Monday that their nominations would be sent to the National Assembly for confirmation. “Legally, you are in acting capacity until the National Assembly accepts you,” the President said. “It is only then that you will take the oath of office. Thereafter, we will sit down and talk in more detail.” Ostensibly based on the President’s comment, and perhaps based on the fact that the last set of Service chiefs were screened and approved by the Senate, a citizen, Chinedu Peters, tweeted at Mr. Saraki at 5:25 p.m. on Monday urging him and his colleagues to imme

PDP urges Buhari against cosmetic governance...says ‘Let your works speak for you’

Image
Press statement from the PDP... The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a responsible political party made a promise to President Muhammadu Buhari that it would not get involved in distracting or detracting him from delivering good governance to the Nigerian people. This has informed our restrained position on a number of issues that ordinarily we would have made comments on. However, because of the overzealousness of your spokespersons and some members of your party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in dramatizing some imaginary achievements of your administration in a space of one month, there is need to put the records straight. We believe that one month is such a short time to assess any government, however when this administration and your party started rolling out premature scorecards of imaginary achievements, it became necessary for us and indeed most Nigerians to X-ray them. We need to bring to your notice certain indices that if not properly corrected are c

I Did't Send Any Emissary To Otti - GOV. IKPEAZU

Image
GOVERNOR Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has denied sending any emissaries to Dr. Alex Otti, APGA governorship candidate in the last general elections to lobby him to drop his petition against the governor at the election tribunal, and challenged Otti to mention the name of the emissaries sent to him. The governor was reacting to a statement credited to Otti that the governor and his party, PDP have been sending emissaries urging him to drop his petition, an appeal he said he vehemently rejected. Speaking through his Special Assistant on Media, Ugochukwu Emezue, Ikpeazu said at no time had he contemplated sending emissaries to his opponent, especially since the tribunal commenced sitting in Umuahia. “I challenge Dr. Alex Otti to name those who visited him on behalf of the Government of Abia State. Why should I send emissaries to somebody that contested the election with me and lost woefully? “Is it not an irony that such should be the case? I hope he is not misconstruing

Donald Trump unleashes Tweetstorm because of escaped Mexican drug Lord

Following the prison break of Mexican drug lord Joaquin "ElChapo" Guzman,  Donald Trump unleashed a bunch of tweets in which he claimed the drug lord's escape vindicated his controversial comments that Mexico sends criminals and rapists to America. Lets Settle Our Differences, Igbo Group Begs Lagosians

Image
A Lagos-based Igbo think tank, the Igbo Conscience, has urged all Igbo and Yoruba living in the state to settle their differences and move on. The group in a statement by its spokesmen, Mr. Onyekachi Ubani and Mr. Peter Oparah, said the call had become necessary because of the bad blood generated during the elections. The group said if the bitterness was not addressed, it could lead to conflicts in the state. The Peoples Democratic Party won elections in areas dominated by the Igbo indigenes while the All Progressives Congress won in areas dominated by Yoruba which showed that tribal affiliation determined the outcome of the elections. The statement read, “The Igbo Conscience has noted, with grave concern, the increasing negative fallout of the last general election, which, if not checked, may lead to much more unsavoury developments in the country. “Of particular concern to us is the increasing spate of hate messages that have now taken over the once cord

The horrific incident happened yesterday in Warri. The eye-witness writes below... Is a double lane road but the bullion van was on the wrong lane with the police avoiding to go and turn a few meters from the bank. Suddenly a tipper that was coming opposite lost control because of the ruff driving of the bullion van, and the tipper trying to pave way for the bullion van lost control and crush an innocent girl's leg, damaging both legs. Youths from nowhere came and start throwing stones into the bank, before police came and start shooting into the air." The girls injuries are horrific. But thank God she survived it.
