43 year old Mallam Abubakar Umar (pictured left) who started trekking from Yola, Adamawa state on April 26 to Abuja where he hopes to meet with the president-elect, Gen Buhari, had a brief stop over at the palace of the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu, today May 2nd. Umar was received by the Emir and some APC members in the state. According to Umar, he has in his possession 300 letters from people from the north appealing to the president-elect to do everything within his power to end the activities of Boko Haram. A yet-to-be-identified number of people have allegedly been killed after soldiers invaded Kadarko, Kurmi and Wadata villages of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State following the alleged killing of four soldiers by persons. Our correspondent gathered that the soldiers, who arrived the villages  in over 40 trucks, were on a revenge mission over the alleged killing of their colleagues at Angwan Nanmi in Karin Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State. Executive Director of Stefanos Foundation, Mr. Mark Lipdo, quoting sources from the village, alleged, during an interview with our correspondent on Saturday, that the military men opened fire on innocent people and burnt houses. Veteran actor Peter Bunor has died after battling with stroke for several years. The actor died yesterday May 1st. His son, Peter Jr, who is also an actor took to Facebook to announce his passing.  "In the early hours of today, my father, friend, teacher, confidant passed on." he wrote Peter Bunor had complained for years, accusing his colleagues, even the ones he mentored in the industry, of abandoning after he fell ill. "Since this thing happened there has been no single actor that called me to ask about my condition. It is a shame on their part. Would they say they don't know that I am sick? 'I had a stroke and that was the end of it" He told Vanguard in 2013. He finally lost his battle with stroke. May his soul rest in peace, amen.
