Statement from the agency below and a picture showing the difference between a real document from the agency and the fake one above.. "The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, wishes to alert the public about a letter supposedly from the office of the Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, mandating the Commission to initiate discreet investigation against some prominent political figures in the country. The commission urges the public to discountenance the said letter as it is forged document, intended to mislead the people. The features of the letter are markedly different from that on a genuine letter from the office of the Chief of Staff to the president. Lekki Robbery: Statement by Gov. Fashola totally irresponsible - Reuben Abati

Image
Presidential Media aide, Reuben Abati has described as totally irresponsible the statement made by Governor of Lagos state Babatunde Fashola that the success of the robbery incident that occurred in Lekki yesterday March 12th was as a result of the drafting of all police formation in the state to protect President Jonathan who was in the state when the robbery incident occurred. Reuben Abati spoke to state house correspondence "We consider the statement attributed to Governor Fashola as grossly and utterly irresponsible. We expect that a man of his status who is the Governor of a state should speak more responsibly. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever that the entire police formation in a state would be deployed to protect the president of Nigeria.  The visit of the President or any part of the country does not necessitate the depletion of the police force active in that particular state or its environment. The President has a defined team that prot...

I cannot ask my people to vote for you - Awujale tells GEJ

Image
While receiving President Jonathan in his palace in Ijebu-Ode yesterday March 12th, the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona was quoted to have told the President that he cannot ask his subjects to vote for him. "In Ijebu here, it is not possible for any Oba, not even in Yorubaland, to go out and say vote for this, vote for that, that person is looking for trouble. The only thing the Oba can do is to give them the opportunity to present their programme so that people can make up their minds on what to do. I think this is a very sound democratic principle and that is what I have decided to do, to give you the opportunity of meeting with the people. One, they see you as a person, how beautiful you are, whether to engage with you or not, to listen to you and see if there are areas where we can meet, as a result, everybody congregating here, they belong to different groups, they are PDP members, APC members, APGA members. They belong to various interests, and when ...

Blessing Okagbare slams Jonathan’s campaign group for using her image in political ad

Image
Track and field queen, Blessing Okagbare is not happy over the use of her image and footage by a body said to be working for President Jonathan. The advertorial by GoodHouse Nigeria has been running on various electronic media in Nigeria and also on Youtube and the athlete is infuriated over the use of her image, especially because they didn't even ask her permission to use the image or footage. According to  Punch , Blessing Okagbare said in a statement sent by her agent that; “Now, I am here struggling on my own to pay my coach, nutritionist, doctor and others to make sure I am in good shape for the All African Games and the IAAF World Championship in Beijing, China later in the year, and some people back home are using my image and footage for presidential campaign ad without seeking for my approval.   This is fraudulent because I am totally not in support of it. We called the people (GoodHouse Nigeria) and they denied using my image and foot...

BREAKING NEWS: Jonathan admits Nigeria lied over Morocco phone row; orders full investigation

Image
President Goodluck Jonathan admitted Friday that he did not speak on telephone with the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, as claimed last week by Nigeria’s foreign affairs ministry, an apparently false claim that sparked a diplomatic spat between the two countries with Morocco recalling its ambassador. Mr. Jonathan was “shocked, surprised and highly embarrassed by the controversy that has erupted over whether or not he had a telephone conversation with His Majesty, King Mohammed VI of Morocco,” the president’s office said. Diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and Morocco worsened Tuesday after the North African country recalled of its ambassador from Abuja, following the telephone call row. The controversy began after Morocco revealed last week that its leader rejecte...

Woman who ordered red carpet frock left with ill-fitting disaster showing gap between Hollywood and reality

Image
A Chinese woman ordered a revealing dress from an online retailer, hoping to emulate the risque glamour of a Hollywood starlet. However, when the dress - a copy of the daring outfit worn by American actress Jaimie Alexander at the LA premiere of Thor: The Dark World - arrived, it left little to the imagination and a lot to be desired. When the retailer sent her the see-through outfit and she tried it on - she screamed 'Ye, mogbe!' lol. The dress sent to her was horrendous, a bad copy of the original one and when she tried to return it, the sellers refused to take it back, so she uploaded the photo on social media, calling out the sellers lol. .

Image
Alhaji Musa Isiwele Shehu, National President Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and a delegate to the 2014 National Conference. In this interview with SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT, IGNATIUS OKOROCHA  he expressed total lack of confidence in  INEC to conduct a free, fair and credible election in the forthcoming elections. Excerpts: This Report was seen on Daily Independent Nigeria was to go to the poll on February 14 and 28 respectively but for the six weeks shift in the election date  request by the military for the extension. How do you feel about the postponement? In my own opinion, the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega was deceiving Nigerians. He was never ready for the election because a day before the meeting of the council of states, Jega had assured them that there was no going back from the conduct of the election. He knew fully well that the 9000 INEC officials that he was going to c...
