Man spends 23years in prison for allegedly failing to bribe policeman

Image
Found this heartbreaking story and decided to share. Find below... (above is Calistus Ike) A shaft of pain knifed through his facial contours as he recounted the grisly experiences he had in prison for more than 23 years. Prior to 1989, Calistus Ike had dreamt of becoming a very successful business man. Little did he know that he was going to spend seven years as an awaiting trial inmate and another 16 years on the death row. As the first son and bread winner of his family at that time, Ike, had all his dreams quashed after he was sentenced to death following his refusal to pay N200 bribe to the policeman that investigated an allegation against him. Luck however shone on him when through the intervention of a France- based human right group, Avocats Sans Frontieres, ASFF, also known as ‘Lawyers Without Borders France’, the Edo state government, pardoned him and approved his release from prison in 2012. Reliving the harrowing times he had in jail and circums...

Do you know that having a TV in your bedroom can enhance your sexual life? –Study

Image
Beyond the fun of watching your favourite movies in the comfort of your room, a new study has revealed that having a television in the bedroom could spice up the relationship between husband and wife and enhance their sexual lives. According to the study, even though having a television in the bedroom may tamper with sleep cycle, it could double the frequency of sex between couples. The research conducted by www.VoucherCodesPro.co.uk  looked into the relationships of 2,431 people to see how the TV in the bedroom affects their sex life, if at all. Those who had TV in their bedrooms were about 74 per cent. Of those surveyed, more than half, in fact, about two third believed that their sex life was healthier because they had a television in their bedroom, and 50 per cent of that group were totally stoked that they could watch their favourite show while having sex. When the results were collated, those who had a TV in their bedroom had sex, on average, twice per wee...

Everyone is crazy in Lagos' - Etcetera writes

Image
Another article from singer turned writer, Etcetera. See below... Few weeks ago, I got a call from a friend asking me out for a drink, but I was already at the Lagos airport. “I’m not going to be around for the next few days,” I told him. “I’m going to Abuja.” His immediate reaction was – “Why? What’s wrong? Do you want to bore yourself to death?” That’s the typical response I get whenever I tell someone I am travelling to Abuja. Abuja is a beautiful city with a terrible reputation for boredom. I have heard people in other cities speak of Lagos as a noisy, dirty and dangerous city filled with crazy people. In truth, everyone in Lagos is crazy. What else do you expect in a state crammed with 22 million people? It must be a hell of a job for the governor and his officials keeping everyone under law and order daily. Lagos has a peculiar vibe that can’t be found anywhere in the world, so much that “Lagos Hustle” is a commonly used phrase among Nigerians. I would rather go c...

Revealed, A Must Read For We Men: Men aren’t always up for sex, they fake orgasm too?

Image
It is commonly believed that many married women fake orgasms especially when they want to pretend to have enjoyed their spouses’ lovemaking in order not to hurt their feelings as well as protect their ego. And since a woman’s orgasm is not visible unlike the man whose orgasm is evident as he ejaculates, most women can comfortably get away with faking orgasm. However, a new study has revealed that many men also pretend about their orgasm. The study has also shown that condoms do make it easier to disguise the magic moment of performances involving heavy breathing and moaning. According to the study, men do actually fake being in sexual ecstasy. Besides, those excuses – headaches, fatigues, not being in the mood – usually given by women are not limited to them alone. Men do have such ‘tricks’ up their sleeves. Even though a man is believed to be the head of the family, beyond the need to provide for his family, he is also expected to be man enough to meet the sexual nee...
