AN attempt by a two-man robbery gang to dispossess a bank customer of N900,000 ended tragically for one of them as he was crushed by their victim’s vehicle. Crime Reports learnt that one Alhaji (name withheld) recently went to a bank at Iwo Road area of Ibadan, Oyo State to withdraw the cash, after which he drove out of the bank premises in his Nissan Pathfinder Sport Utility Vehicle. Unknown to him, he had been sighted by the two armed robbers who had mounted surveillance around the bank, in search of victims. It was further gathered that the two armed gang members immediately followed the Alhaji on their operational motorcycle. On getting to Alakia area of the city, it was reliably gathered, the hoodlums blocked the Pathfinder with their motorcycle, drew a gun and shot at their victim’s leg, demanding for the money he just withdrew from the bank. This accident happened yesterday morning along Maze road in Owerri. A car hit the Okada man who immediately became unconscious and they rushed him to the hospital. Other victims survived the accident but had injuries. More photos below

CNN anchor Jim Clancy has left the network one week after a bizarre exchange with pro-Israel activists on Twitter about   the   terrorist outrages in Paris, in which he derided his opponents as the “hasbara team” and used a derogatory term for disabled people. The news was broken by industry publication  Adweek , which linked to  The Algemeiner ‘s extensive reporting of the scandal, noting that Clancy’s departure “comes just days after the veteran journalist had an extended debate via Twitter over the Charlie Hebdo cartoons.” CNN, however, made no mention of the scandal as it paid tribute to Clancy’s 34 years of service with the channel. “Jim Clancy is no longer with CNN. A 65 years old woman popularly called ‘Iya Oyo’ has been hospitalized having been attacked by two rams in Ado Ekiti, a development that led to the arrest of the rams by the police.The strange rams are said to be owned by a manager of a filling station at Okesa area of the state capital The embattled woman who was accompanied by his son at the time of attack on Monday was about going to a bank to withdraw some money when she was attacked by the rams.On sighting the woman ,the rams were said to have allegedly gone wild and gored her on the right thigh. Barely five days after the All Progressives Congress secretariat in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State was bombed, another secretariat belonging to the party was attacked at Ngo community in Andoni Local Government Area of the state on Friday. A suspected bomber, on Friday, abandoned a bomb-laden pick-up vehicle at a police check point on the Gombe-Biu road. The suspect fled to an unknown destination after a failed attempt to detonate the improvised explosive devices at the check point. An eyewitness told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the scene on Friday that the suspected bomber had concealed the devices with bags of maize, house utensils, beddings and other items.He was said to be driving from Gombe to Dadin Kowa-Biu. According to the witness, the suspect first attempted to bribe the policemen at the Dutsen Kura check point near Dadin Kowa in Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State. He said the policemen on duty refused the bribe and insisted that he should park his van for checking. A 46-year-old farmer, Mr Olubusayo Sunday, on Wednesday, committed suicide after beheading his wife and daughter. A statement made available to Saturday  Tribune  by the office of the Ogun State Police Command’s Public Relations said that the incident occurred at Onigbedu town in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state. According to the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the man stabbed himself severely and set himself ablaze at about 1.15 p.m. on the day.He was said to have beheaded his wife, Oyewole Sunday, 40 and three-year-old daughter, Esther Sunday, for unknown reasons. Never in the wildest imagination of Samson Ibrahim, did he envisage he would not live to see his agenda for 2015 actualize, as he set off to a bar in Paiko Idimu, a Lagos suburb on January 1. The 40 year-old father of three reportedly received an invitation from some of his friends at the bar. He was said to have left his apartment with a promise to come back and continue the New celebration with his family. But that was never to be as he was rushed from the bar to the hospital, following a severe injury he sustained during a fight over a girl.
