I'm posting this because some critics have said he can't take his "act" to Asia. But he is there live: Pastor T.B. Joshua is currently flying the flag for Nigeria in the Asian nation of South Korea where he just concluded a two day pastor’s conference. Pictures posted to Joshua’s official Facebook Page showed him addressing a gathering of over 3000 Korean pastors in Shingil Church located in Korea’s capital city, Seoul.  The two day event was also broadcast live via his popular Christian television station Emmanuel TV.  The move surprised many of his followers as the visit was unannounced and it is TB Joshua’s first foreign ministry travel in nearly seven years besides a much publicised visit to Ghana last year that brought parts of Accra to a literal standstill.

UMUAHIA — ABIA State governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has said there was no going back in his promise to cede power to Ukwa/Ngwa people of the state, but urged them to help him realise the project. According to Governor Orji, ceding power to Ukwa/Ngwa people was the only way to ensure justice and fairness and eliminate marginalisation and ethnic cleavages, so everybody could have a sense of belonging. The governor spoke, yesterday, in Umuahia, when Ukwa/Ngwa professionals visited him to commend his development efforts in the state and to appreciate his decision to cede power to the area.   Stressing the need to ensure that the project succeeded, Orji called on the Ukwa/Ngwa people to help realise the project, saying that the first attack he received when he announced the plan to cede power to them was from an Ukwa/Ngwa person.  

ABUJA — Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, yesterday, reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government in ensuring that 5.3 million youths are gainfully employed. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Okonjo-Iweala, stated this while commissioning the Global Distance Learning Institute, GDLI, in Abuja.   She said unemployment had been a problem before President Goodluck Jonathan’s  administration assumed office,  explaining the reason there were over 5.3 million backlog of unemployed youths in the country. She said efforts would be made to encourage unemployed youths in the country to be entrepreneurs and employers of labour.   Okonjo-Iweala said:  “President Jonathan is very worried about problem of unemployment in the country. No fewer than eight people have been confirmed dead, while 12 others were rescued in the boat accident involving a boat belonging to Bell Marine Services. Among the dead were two pregnant women, a couple said to be preparing for their wedding next weekend and a 13-year-old girl. The boat was said to have taken the passengers from their places of work at 5.34pm around Ebute Ero on the Lagos Island, en route the Majidun, Ikorodu area of Lagos State on Wednesday.

There was pandemonium in the Akinremi Estate, Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday as some youths in the area discovered a secret baby factory in a vicinity known as Vulcaniser Bus Stop. The incident comes barely two weeks after eight women were rescued from a baby factory in Akute area of the state. “When the youths heard of the Thursday incident, they took the law into their hands. They set the place ablaze, but policemen attached to the Quick Response Squad stopped them from doing more damage. The youths refused to leave until the police fired teargas canisters. “The place was uncovered in the wee hours of Thursday when one of the victims escaped and ran into a nearby building. ABAKALIKI — THE Ebonyi State Police Command, yesterday, paraded a 30-year-old Nwode Chukwudi Awam, for beheading his father, Michael Awam, 56, and eating the victim’s neck at Egwudinagu Obegu village in Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state. The State Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Chris Anyanwu, said: “The Ebonyi State Command has arrested Nwode Chukwudi, 30, who hails from Egwudinagu Obegu village in Ebonyi Local Government Area for beheading his biological father. “The remains of the victim were deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital, FETHA, mortuary for autopsy. “When the police went for him, he was waving the machete which he used to cut his father’s head and threatening to kill anybody that gets close to him.
