Ex-Egypt ruler Hosni Mubarak cleared of corruption and murder charges

Image
Former Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak has been cleared of charges of corruption and killing of hundreds of Egyptian protesters in a revolution that toppled him in 2011. Mubarak ruled Egypt for 29 years. The 86-year-old Mubarak was convicted in 2012 of issuing orders to kill peaceful protesters during the country's 2011 uprising and was sentenced to life in prison. He appealed and was granted a new trial last year. Also acquitted were Mubarak's former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly and six of el-Adly's aides, who'd been accused of being connected to the deaths of 239 protesters as security forces cracked down on them in 2011. Mubarak's two sons also were acquitted  Saturday  of corruption. Mubarak still has a three-year sentence for a previous conviction for embezzlement, but it not clear when he'll be freed. Prosecutors have the option of appealing the acquittal decision.

The Christian Association of Nigeria CAN has condemned the bomb attack that took place yesterday at the Central Mosque in Kano where over 100 persons have been confirmed dead. Read the statement after the cut... The statement in part reads  "The entire Christian community in Nigeria received the news of the latest in the series of bomb explosions, this time around at the mosque near the Emir’s palace in Kano, with shock and disbelief. FOR THE LADIES:How To Hook An Igbo Man For Marriage

Image
Hundreds of thousands of Igbo single ladies will be heading to their villages and other parts of Igboland within the Christmas and New Year seasons hoping to start relationships with Igbo men that will lead to marriage. But hooking and dating an Igbo guy need lots wisdom, skills and strategies before the relationship will lead to the altar. Here are my winning tips for the ladies: 1. DRESS DECENTLY: An average Igbo man is very conservative and may not approve your dressing that shows off your female anatomy. Those tight fitting trousers, miniskirts and transparent blouses will scare him away that you are a hustler not a wife material 2. NEVER SHOW SUPERIORITY: No matter your family or educational success, never try to prove to an Igbo man that he is inferior. He has a very large ego to a point of pomposity. Never tell him that another guy dress better than him, speak better or a better gentleman than him. He is the King of his jungle and treat him like one.

Kano Mosque Bomb Blast Was Planned For 2 Months - Emir Of Kano Lamido Sanusi

Image
The Emir of Kano, Muhammed Sanusi II, on Saturday visited the city’s bloodstained central mosque, 24 hours after coordinated bomb and gun attacks there that left at least 120 people dead. During the 20-minute-visit to the mosque, which adjoins his palace in the city, the emir directed the place be washed and cleaned, an AFP correspondent at the scene reported. Sanusi was out of Nigeria on Friday, when the deadly assault on the mosque occurred. Last week, the emir — who is the country’s second most senior Muslim cleric — made a call at the same mosque urging civilians to take up arms against the Islamist extremist group Boko Haram. “From all indications, they (attackers) have been planning this for at least two months,” Sanusi said as he arrived at the mosque straight from the airport. He did not give details on what information supported that assertion. “I have directed that the mosque be washed and cleaned and prayers should continue here,” he said. “We wi

JAIL BREAK: Court Martialed Soldiers Attempted A Jail Break In Yola Prison

Image
There was pandemonium in Yola yesterday when soldiers incarcerated at the Yola Prisons attempted a jail break around 3pm shortly after Friday prayers were observed, a source at the prison said. Sources from the prison yard told LEADERSHIP Weekend that trouble started when the soldiers who were court martialed by military authorities and brought to the prison yard tried to break the door of their cell. However, prison warders used their numerical strength and overpowered the soldiers beating them mercilessly in order to deter them from further rebellion. It was gathered that some of the inmates of the prison yard who frowned at the arrogant behaviour of the incarcerated soldiers joined in beating up the soldiers who were later chained and taken to the back cells. As the commotion in the prison lasted, the armed squad of the Nigerian Prison started firing shots signalling that they were equal to the task of repelling any outside attack. The shots further cau

Ziona Chana hasa has 39 wives, 94 children, 14 daughters-in-law and 33 grandchildren. They all live with him in his hotel-like 100-room, four-story house perched among the hills of Baktwang village in the Indian state of Mizoram.  One year, he married ten wives. Two of them sisters. His 39 wives say they are blessed to have him and take turns to share his bed.    It takes 30 whole chickens, peel 132lb of potatoes and boil up to 220lb of rice to make dinner for this family. The family is organised with almost military discipline, with the oldest wife Zathiangi organising her fellow partners to perform household chores such as cleaning, washing and preparing meals.  Coincidentally, Mr Chana is said to head a sect that allows members to take as many wives as they want. Rinkmini, one of Mr Chana's wives who is now 38 years old, said:  'We stay around him as he is the most important person in the house. He is the most handsome person in the village.

My wife doesn't like our son

Image
From a reader I have three children with my wife. Two of our children are girls and the last who is just three years old is a boy but I have noticed that my wife treats him differently from his sisters. She's not patient with him and smacks him whenever he does something wrong instead of correcting him in a loving manner like a mother should. She also talks to him harshly. If I hadn't seen her give birth to him, I would have thought he was adopted. I have asked her many times why she treats him differently but she says I am just exaggerating. I knew this was getting out of hand when I contemplated getting a camera to see how she treats him when I am not around. That is his mother not his nanny so I shouldn't be scared to leave him alone with her but the sad truth is that I am. What should I do?
