Crude Oil Theft: PDP Governorship Candidate Jarrett Tenebe Arrested, Implicates Jonathan’s Former Chief of Staff, Anenih, And Petroleum Minister

Jarrett Tenebe, a Peoples democratic Party gubernatorial candidate and a politically well-connected oil thief arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly shocked investigators by revealing that he received cover from several senior government officials and top politicians, including Mike Oghiadomhe, a former Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, Tony Anenih, chair of the board of trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison Madueke. The EFCC was still holding Mr. Tenebe today after arresting him last week for alleged theft of massive amounts of crude oil. An EFCC source disclosed that Mr. Tenebe, who hails from Edo State, told investigators that his powerful political patrons and protectors enabled him to carry out lucrative crude oil theft from Nigeria under the guise of evacuating stolen crude on behalf of the federal government. Anambra state University renamed Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University

The Anambra House of Assembly on today September 11th passed a bill, changing the name of the state-owned university at Uli to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. The bill was passed during the plenary of the legislature in Awka to honour the former Biafra hero. The decision followed the report of the House Committee on Education which recommended the change of the name. Continue... Nigerian man arrested for abducting & raping a woman in the US

29 Nigerian man based in Brookline, Massachusetts, Samuel Okorie is accused of grabbing a woman at a public place & sexually assaulting her. The incident took place over the weekend in a residential neighbourhood. According to police report, early Sunday morning, police came to the house (right), in Brookline and arrested Samuel Okorie. He was booked on charges including rape, kidnapping  and robbery. A 21 year old woman identified Okorie as the man who sexually assaulted her. Police say the victim ran up the street, crying for help. Neighbours said she was screaming 'help me, help me'. When a neighbour approached her, she said "he raped me, he's coming to get me.". We raped journalist, collected N1m ransom ─ Suspected kidnappers

The suspected kidnappers. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers, Bashiru Raji and Christian Jacob, who confessed to have raped a journalist and also collected N1m to release her in one of their operations. PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspected kidnappers were arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad on August 16 in the Egbeda area of Lagos. The police said the time of arrest was about 10am. Our correspondent gathered that the five-man gang, which the two suspects belonged to, was notorious in the South West for several robbery and kidnapping operations. It was gathered that the gang had been on the wanted list of the police for some kidnapping operations including one involving a female journalist in 2012. It was further learnt that the gang, after realising that they were wanted by the police, left the South West and went to Delta State to continue their activities. Minna- A Minna Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday ordered the remand of a 55-year-old woman, Fatima Tsaraka for allegedly killing her grandson. The accused it was alleged abducted her grandson, took him to a nearby bush where she and two others slaughtered him, made a meal of his flesh and drank his blood. Tsaraka, arraigned alongside Amina Mohammed, 65, and Zhitsun Aliyu, 38, is facing a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and cannibalism. The accused were arraigned on Sept. 1, but the prosecutor requested an adjournment to enable police conclude investigation. At the resumed hearing of the case, the Magistrate, Mr Hamidu Bima, ordered the continued detention of the accused pending legal advice from the State Directorate of Public Prosecutions. South African Woman 'Arrested' In Lagos Airport Over EBOLA related issues

The female South African is said to have spent some time in disease-ridden Sierra Leone before coming to Lagos According to reports, a South African woman has been arrested in a Lagos airport after showing symptoms of Ebola. The “suspect” was said to have arrived Nigeria from Morocco after working in Guinea and Sierra Leone. The woman was in transit to her country but she has now been taken to an Ebola treatment center in Lagos to be tested for the disease, The Sun reports. Fears were said to have been sparked when the woman filled out a health questionnaire on her arrival in Lagos and acknowledged that she was suffering from diarrhea and vomiting, both possible symptoms of the Ebola hemorrhagic virus. Beninoise man arrainged in court for stealing Chris Ayanwu's N10m, Jewellery

A 33 year old Beninoise man identified as Brouno Amoussou was today Sept. 11th arraigned before the Igbosere Magistrate Court for allegedly conspiring to steal N10million cash, land documents and expensive jewelries from the home of Senator Chris Anyanwu, a serving senator representing Imo state at the National Assembly. According to the prosecutor of the case, Cpl Innocent Odugbo, the suspect, a resident of 221, Temple Heights, Flat 6, Banana Island, Lagos, had in July this year conspired with one Alex Sossou, a cook who is currently at large, to steal from the senator's house. MEND Threatens Terror Attacks In Lagos State

When the Federal Government of Nigeria is still grappling with the Boko Haram sect terror attacks across Nigeria, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, has threatened to carry out attacks in Lagos. According to a statement signed by MEND’s  Commander Wilberforce and made public on Wednesday, 10 September, 2014, the group said it planned to launch a coordinated attacks and bombing of the houses and vehicles of Judges in the probate section of the Lagos High Court.  MEND informed that the planned attacks are necessitated by the continued failure of Judges in the section of the court to sign letters of administration of its deceased members family years after it has been approved. Suspects Say Human Flesh Is 'Tastier' Than Animals

The police in Niger have arrest 3 members of a cult group said to specialize in roasting and eating human beings. The suspects, identified simply as Fatima, Tetengi and Aminatu, were accused of the murder of a young boy. The victim, 9-year-old Umar, was reportedly handed over by his father, Mohammed, to Fatima to watch the child until his return. However, on the father’s departure, Fatima allegedly handed Umar over to Tetengi supposedly to slaughter and roast him. The flesh was then shared by the 3 suspects. The suspects have allegedly confessed to the crime with one of them supposedly telling the police during interrogation that “human flesh was tastier than those of animals.” The incident has been confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, DSP Ibrahim Abiodun Gambari. Lagos – The police in Lagos on Thursday arraigned a 23-year -old man, who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend for desiring to quit their relationship. Olaide Salami appeared before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court over assault, stealing and conspiracy. Salami, who resides at Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos, allegedly stabbed Miss Monisola Adedoyin on the face with a broken bottle. The Prosecutor, Cpl. John Iberedem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Oct. 28, 2013 at No. 25, Adeyemi St., Ajegunle. The judge didn't find Oscar Pistorius guilty of murder but from what she said this afternoon, it looks like she's planning to find him guilty of manslaughter. Osca r Pistorius  has been cleared of the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, a dramatic vindication for the athlete who vehemently protested his innocence during a trial in  South Africa  that gripped millions around the world. The Olympic and Paralympic athlete slumped forward in the dock and sobbed quietly as the judge, Thokozile Masipa, ruled on Thursday that the state had failed to prove he was guilty of murder or premeditated murder, and that the evidence was "purely circumstantial". He could not have foreseen killing whoever was behind the toilet door at his home in Pretoria, she said.
