'Atiku Abubakar haunted by his corruption demons' - Nasir El-Rufai

Image
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in his recent interview with EFCC quarterly magazine, Zero Tolerance, reacted to the allegations of corruption leveled against him by Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in his book, "Accidental Public Servant". In the book, El Rufai accused Atiku of using his office as Vice President for corruption and self aggrandizement.  Atiku in an interview with EFCC, reacted to El-Rufai's allegation by accusing the governor of offering him shares in Transcorp Ltd when he was still VP.  He said he turned down the offer because it was unethical for him as a VP to be a shareholder in a company formed by the government.  Atiku says this act and many others are pointers to the fact that he is not corrupt.  In a swift reaction to Atiku's claims, El-Rufai released a statement titled "Atiku haunted by his corruption demons". In the statement, El-Rufai denied Atiku's claims of offering him shares in Transcorp.
