DR. Ikpeazu is operating illegally as governor - Festus Keyamo.

Image
On Monday, 27th day of June, 2016 the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja (Per Hon. Justice O. E. Abang) nullified the nomination of Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for the 2015 Gubernatorial Election of Abia State and also his subsequent election as Governor of Abia State. The Court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue a Certificate of Return to Dr. Sampson Uchechukwu Ogah, who scored the second highest number of votes in the primaries that produced Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. A thorough scrutiny of the judgment of the court will reveal that, contrary to widespread opinion that Dr. Sampson Uchechukwu Ogah’s case was that Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu presented forged tax papers to the Independent National Electoral Commission, his case was simply that Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu apparently rushed to pay all his backlog of taxes just before the elections, yet he swore to a false affidavit and supplied a false

Contrary to global standards, the experts who do not want t

Image
The Senator representing Sokoto North in the Nigerian Senate, Aliyu Wamakko, has denied reports that he hosted a series of meetings at his Abuja home to discuss how to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari from office. Mr. Wamakko in a statement late Tuesday said his attention was drawn to a “false and malicious” story published by an online newspaper that a series of meetings were held at his residence to strategise on the impeachment proceedings of President Buhari. “To set the records straight, a meeting was only held in my residence towards finding amicable solution to the frosty relationship between the Executive and Legislature,” he said. The former Sokoto governor said those at the meeting had observed the growing disharmony between the two arms of government and resolved that finding amicable solution to the impasse will move the nation forward and give the president focus to pursue his Change Agenda. “As a principled politician, I have no caus

Buhari Has Adopted 2 Recommendations from Jonathan's Confab Report - VP Osinbajo

Image
In a statement released on Tuesday by Laolu Akande, the vice president's spokesman, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari had already adopted two of the recommendations in the report submitted after the national confab convened during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan, his predecessor. He made the disclosure and said that Nigerians require a deeper and better understanding of the restructuring debate, following widespread criticism of his recent comments on the subject, and noted that the restructuring debate, as it currently is, has many meanings and interpretations. “He (Osinbajo) wholly supports the idea of having State Police across the country as articulated in the APC’s Roadmap to a New Nigeria… Different groups are taking different approaches and at times this confuses the debate and reduces it to mere political rhetoric. “Restructuring debate should go deeper than what we see on newspaper headlines and we ne

Image
The counsel to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Mike Ozekhome, has replied the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha Buhari, through her counsel, Mary Ekpere & Co, justifying the governor’s claim that Mrs. Buhari was mentioned in the Halliburton scandal (sic). But in a letter dated July 8, 2016, Mr. Ozekhome affirmed that the statement made regarding the involvement of Mrs. Buhari in the Halliburton scandal was “correct and justified in law, having regards to a court judgment convicting one Mr William Jefferson for bribery in the Halliburton case”. The counsel to the president’s wife, Mary Ekpere & Co had written a letter dated June 22, 2016, to Mr. Fayose, demanding a retraction of the governor’s statement that the
