Tennis Star Serena Williams Gives Birth To A Baby Girl

S erena Williams gave birth to a 6-pound, 13-ounce baby girl on Friday.  Serena Willaims and her fiance' Alexis Ohanian had their daughter in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Serena announced her pregnancy back in April that she was pregnant. She learned she was pregnant just days before the Australian Open began. She posted a selfie on Snapchat with the caption “20 weeks” confirming that she was expecting her first child. Her sister, Venus Williams, who is now a new aunt, was asked about the new addition to the family. "Obviously I'm super excited. Words can't describe," she said.  Serena and her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou are adamant that she will return back to the tour now that she has delivered the baby.

Nnamdi Kanu rejects plea by Southeast governors, insists on Biafra

T he Nnamdi Kanu led Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) rejected the plea of the governors of the Southeast zone of Nigeria during a meeting between the pro-Biafra group and the politicians. The closed door meeting held at the Enugu Government House where the governors attempted to convince Kanu to drop his agitation for Biafra but failed. According to reports, the meeting also failed to stop his threat against the November 18 governorship election in Anambra state. The governors had invited Kanu to discuss issues concerning the alleged violation of his bail conditions for which the Federal Government had asked an Abuja High court to issue an order to re-arrest him. Dangote speaks on 2019 presidential ambition

A frica’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has distanced himself from reports saying he will run for the Presidency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2019. Dangote made the denial while reacting to a report that officials of PDP think-tank programme set up by former President, Goodluck Jonathan have contacted him to be the party’s presidential flag bearer in 2019. Speaking with Daily Times, Dangote said: “I am an entrepreneur. My passion is to create jobs for Nigerians and not otherwise. “I am not interested in politics and this is authoritative. Biafra: Igbo Assembly tells Buhari what to do to Nnamdi Kanu

I gbo Delegates Assembly (IDA), an umbrella body of Igbos in the 19 northern states and Abuja, has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to dialogue with the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, and leaders of other agitating groups. The assembly, rising from a three-day meeting in Abuja, urged the government to shelve the idea of revoking Kanu’s bail. A communiqué signed at the end of the meeting by Chi Nwogu and ‎Austine Ifedinezi, president general and secretary of the assembly, respectively, urged the federal government to take urgent steps to put Nigeria “on a path of peaceful co-existence, through equitable distribution of patronage and infrastructural development.” IDA argued that the recent outburst in favour of the establishment of the state of Biafra was simply a response to the socio-economic imbalances in Nigeria which, they added, would give way once the imbalances are genuinely addressed. Kenya Supreme Court annuls election of President Kenyatta

K enya’s Supreme Court has nullified the result of the August 8 presidential election won by President Uhuru Kenyatta. In a ruling on Friday, the court said the electoral board committed “irregularities and illegalities” during last month’s vote, harming the integrity of the election. The court ordered another presidential election to be held within 60 days. “The declaration [of Kenyatta’s win] is invalid, null and void,” said Judge David Maraga, announcing the verdict of four out of the six judges. Maraga said the election commission ,”failed, neglected or refused to conduct the presidential election in a manner consistent with the dictates of the constitution”. No Kenya presidential election has ever before been nullified. It is also a rare occurrence in the whole of Africa. A lawyer for Kenyatta, Ahmednasir Abdullahi, said the decision was, “very political” and the election board had “done nothing wrong”. But he said the decision had to be respected.

L eader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has alleged that Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha was engaged in homosexual activities with former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babagida, IBB, and business mogul, T.Y. Danjuma. Kanu made the allegation while claiming that Okorocha’s biological father was an Hausa man and not Igbo. The IPOB leader revealed that Okorocha’s alleged biological father introduced the governor to Danjuma, who later introduced him to Babangida, the “circle of homosexuals.” In an audio retrieved online, the frontline Biafra agitator also accused Okorocha of once practicing “419,” adding that proceeds of one of such adventures was used in establishing a commercial school in Jos, Plateau State. Kanu further challenged Okorocha to prove that he is an Igbo man by submitting himself for DNA test.
