Petrol Tanker falls and crushes a commercial bus in Osogbo, Osun

A petrol-laden truck fell and crushed a commercial bus called 'Korope' at Asubiaro area, Osogbo. It happened close to a church. The tanker spilled its contents but thankfully no life was lost. As at 3:30 - 4:Pm, Police and Civil Defence were able to seal up the area, as the contents of the tank which was still spilling unto the ground was being transferred in black water tanks.  The road in which this accident occurred is so bad and rapidly deteriorating. Please fix our roads!

Nigerian lady emerges presidential candidate in Spain

Nigerian born Spanish lawyer, Helen Mukoro, has emerged the presidential candidate of an opposition party for the forthcoming election in Spain. She set a new record as the first woman and an immigrant to emerge presidential flag bearer of a political party. She will be running on the platform of Union De Todos, a party she founded earlier this year. Helen, who is also a forensic expert and author of many books, was born in Delta State and worked briefly in the Governor’s Office before she travelled to Spain in 1992. She gained prominence in Spanish politics, when she founded a political party and later became the first Nigerian-Spanish to contest for the Mayor of Denia in May this year. Although she lost the election, her popularity soared higher as several people endorsed him for the highest office in the land. Helen holds several academic qualifications. DECLARATION OF ASSETS: Buhari’s declared assets less than N30 million at the time of inauguration – Presidency

The Presidency has said President Muhammadu Buhari ‎as at May 29th when he was sworn-in had less than N30 million to his name, had no foreign account, no registered company and no oil wells. It also said Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, a successful lawyer before his foray into politics, had a bank balance of about N94 million and $900,000 in his bank accounts. The Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement quoted documents submitted by President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). According to Shehu, the documents show that Buhari, a retired General, “has indeed been living an austere and Spartan lifestyle, contrary to what many might expect of a former Head of State of Nigeria and one who has held a number of top government positions, such as governor, Minister of petroleum and the head of the Petroleum Development Trust Fund (PTDF)”. Nigerian Army vows to defeat Boko Haram in 3 months

The Nigerian Army has vowed to defeat Boko Haram sect within 3 months. This was stated in a statement released by the acting spokesperson of the Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman. Part of the statement reads "I have no iota of doubt in my mind that our troops will wipe out the insurgents in the shortest possible time and we are committed to this target. You are aware that our troops recaptured Gamboru Ngala last Tuesday and are now consolidating, mopping up and preparing for the next offensive against the terrorists. It is gratifying to note that most of the terrorist group leadership, has been decimated, while foot soldiers are abandoning their masters, burying their weapons in the forest and seeking solace. South Africa's Johannesburg tops Africa millionaires list As Nigeria Comes 3rd

South Africa has the highest number of dollar millionaires in Africa, according to a new report. According to a report by AfrAsia Bank and New World Wealth, Johannesburg alone, known as the "city of gold", is home to 23,400 millionaires. South Africa has 30% of the total. Egypt's Cairo comes second with 10,200, with Nigeria's Lagos third with 9,100. The study defines millionaires as people with net assets worth at least $1m (£650,000). It estimates there are close to 163,000 millionaires living in Africa, with a combined wealth of $670bn (£440bn). The number of millionaires is rising fastest in Ghana's capital, Accra, the report said, even though at the moment, with 2,300, it does not make the top five. After Lagos, comes Cape Town with 8,900 and Nairobi with 6,200. Controversial former spokesperson of the State Security Service (SSS), Marilyn Ogar, has been compulsorily retired from service following investigation into allegations of bribery and professional misconducts against her. Mrs. Ogar was alleged to have collected several trucks of DPK (Dual Purpose Kerosene) as bribe, playing partisan roles, among other breaches of service codes. Although no official statement has been issued by the Service regarding the compulsory retirement of Mrs. Ogar and others officials, a security source confirmed that the former spokesperson was retired on Wednesday – seven years before she was due to leave service. Heartbreaking Images-Refugee couple throw themselves on train tracks to avoid being taken to camp

Heartbreaking pictures show a man and his wife laying on the tracks with their baby held between them as Hungarian police officers attempt to drag them away to a refugee camp. ITV reporter James Mates, who witnessed the incident, reported refugees on board the trains leaving Budapest's Keleti station believed they were going to Austria. But the train soon stopped at the small town of Bicske 30 miles down the line where police were waiting. Police tried to clear the train by carriages, 100 people or so at a time and push them through an underpass before backing down.. It was when riot police attempted to remove the refugees from the train that the man and woman threw themselves onto the track with their baby. The anguish is visible on the man's face as police attempt to drag him and his wife off the track.

11yr old daughter of Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque poisoned to death

The daughter of Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque, Alhaji Ahmed Baban-Inna, Hajara Ahmed was allegedly poisoned to death on Monday by a man whose identity was given as Jarelu Ahmed, NAN reports.  According to Bauchi Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Haruna Mohammed, who spoke to NAN on Thursday, the 30-year-old suspect buried the deceased in his room after killing her. "On Monday,August 31, at about 18:00hrs,Police Detectives attached to Township Division in Bauchi, arrested one Jarelu Ahmed, male and 30 years, of Railway road, Bauchi. Army reinstates over 3000 dismissed soldiers

T he Nigerian Army has reinstated not less than 3,032 dismissed soldiers who were dismissed for failing to engage Boko Haram members. Most of the soldiers were dismissed after they rebelled due to poor weapons to the terrorist sect.  NAN reports that the Nigerian army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman confirmed that those reinstated were among the 5000 recently dismissed soldiers.

Kubwa, a satellite town in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was Monday morning thrown into confusion after a man, who allegedly visited by two women, was found dead in his room at Pipeline area. According to his neighbours, the deceased, 27, who was simply identified as Bello, took the women who neighbours suspected to be prostitutes, to his room on Sunday night “to have fun.” City News learnt that the man’s door had to be forced open when he was not seen outside the next morning. Credible sources told City News that the man, until his death, was always warned by his neighbours to desist from such acts, but all advice fell on deaf ears.  The deceased’s landlord, Mr. Badejo Yekini, who spoke out of annoyance, said: “I think he deserved what he got. Marilyn Ogar, Others Sent On 'Compulsory Retirement

A number of top directors at the Department of State Services (DSS) have been “compulsorily retired”, TheCable has been informed. And top on the list is Marilyn Ogar, who was deputy director of public relations of the agency until two months ago. Ibrahim Katsina was also named as one of the retirees. Most of the affected officers are believed to be close to ItaEkpeyong, former director-general of the agency. Ogar was transferred to Maiduguri, Borno state, in July, but the posting was put on hold following insinuations that it was “punitive”. A senior official of the DSS who confirmed the retirement to TheCable said it was “immediate and compulsory”. As DSS spokesperson, Ogar was responsible for defending the activities of the agency in the media and she is believed to be paying for some of her pronouncements, notably in the face-off with the Bring Back Our Girls movement and the DSS raids on the Lagos office of the All Progressives Congress (APC). ...

3 male adults confirmed dead from accident at Ojuelegba yesterday

3 male adults aged from 30 - 55 years old have been confirmed dead from the trailer that fell off the Ojuelegba flyover bridge yesterday evening. The trailer fell and crushed the victims who were all occupants of an SUV. A 25 year old male survivor was rescued from the fairly impacted white Nissan Eyewitnesses say the same container which was heavily loaded with cement had fallen down from the trailer at the Ijora area of Lagos earlier in the day. The SUV was with plate number LSD 532 CN

Woman tries to sell her virginity for $16k but gets raped instead

Images of the moment a young actress who tried to sell her virginity for $16,000 makes her desperate escape, after she was allegedly raped during the encounter has emerged. The 20-year-old from Azerbaijan, agreed to meet a man she met online in the city of Perm, in central Russia. Mikhail Dnistrian, 28, paid for her ticket, but when she got there it is alleged that the man she went to see said he had changed his mind, and tried to force her to work as a prostitute. She claims when she refused he beat her up and forced her to pose for erotic pictures before raping her at his flat.  The rapist She only managed to escape his clutches, it is claimed, by making a rope with sheets to let herself down from the third floor, but fell in the process, fracturing her hip. The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has arrested the first female fake doctor in Nigeria. According to Daily Trust, the woman, Angela Njide Nwosu who had worked as a doctor for years using forged documents, was arrested on the first day of her new N280,000 a month job at a newly opened private hospital in Bwari council area in Abuja after her new employees demanded MDCN to verify its new staff doctors. When interrogated, Angela claimed to have graduated from Medical school 2005 at University of Nigeria, Nsukka and did house-man-ship at UNN’s teaching hospital, but she failed simple questions any medical student is expected to know.
