The man who refused to give way to President Mugabe's convoy has been jailed for 30 months
A Zimbabwean man identified as Trinity Gonongono will spend the next 30 months in jail after he was given a prison sentence for refusing to give way to President Robert Mugabe's convoy. The 33-year-old, who was driving a Toyota Lite Ace pickup was arrested by Mugabe’s guards when he failed to pull off the road for the President, who was on his way to commission the Victoria Falls International Airport last week. Appearing before Victoria Falls magistrate, Ms. Lindiwe Maphosa on Monday, she convicted Gonongono for failing to comply with a lawful instruction given by the police. He pleaded guilty to the offense and was sentenced to an effective 30 months in jail.
