The leader of Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, July 29th, declared  'The Kuje Prison 2016 Championship Competition'  opened at the prisons in FCT where he has been remanded since last year. While declaring the competition open, Nnamdi Kanu reportedly said that his main purpose for sponsoring the competition this year was for inmates to have freedom and relate with one another, adding that the competition is to foster peace and co-existence among the inmates and the prison officers. The Prison Championship is an annual event aimed at fostering peaceful co-existence among inmates and prison officers. Last year competition was won by the Arsenal Prison Team.

A 23 year old Indian man simply identified as Sandeep, who was presumed dead after being bitten by a snake rose up from the dead at his own funeral, just as his body was about to be cremated. Sandeep, was bitten by a snake while collecting wood from the forest far from his village. When he got back to his village in the Raisen district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, he told his family that he had been bitten by a snake. Rather than take him to a hospital for treatment, his family took him to a traditional tantric practitioner in a nearby village, hoping that traditional medicine would cure him but the traditional cure didn't seem to have healed Sandeep, so they assumed he had died.
