Earlier on today, around 9am, this woman pictured above, who allegedly confessed to being a witch, was rescued from a gutter she was trapped in around Abalti Barracks, Ojuelegba in Surulere, Lagos. According to reports, a passerby had noticed someone stretching out her hand from a very small hole in a 6ft deep gutter just in front of the Army Barracks and calling out for help. The passerby quickly ran into the Army barracks to get help. Within minutes, a crowd gathered with people saying all sort of things about the lady inside the gutter and how she got trapped in it. Some said she's a witch, that she went for her meeting transformed as a bird. Only to end up in the covered gutter after she fell uncontrollably as a bird from the sky. That it was inside the drainage she now transformed back into her human form. Some others said she was on her way from Oshogbo and got sucked in the gutter, and so on. The whistleblower of a scam being perpetrated in the Delta State Students' bursary and scholarship scheme, Mr. Ambrose Ezenweani, SaharaReporters has learned, was framed for a police arrest this afternoon. Ezenweani said he was on his way out of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) campus, and a car obstructed him, directly in front of the Federal College of Education at Akoka. He said the occupants of the car wanted to force him into their car, but he resisted. The altercation caused a small crowd to gather. He said afterwards, the car occupants claimed they only wanted him to join them at the Police Station for some undefined explanations. After his long resistance not to join them in their car, he said, a taxi was called. He said, upon the intervention of passers-by he jumped into the taxi, and headed straight for the Sabo Police Station to find out first hand why he was mysteriously summoned. The Nigeria Film and Video Censorship Board, (NFVCB), has banned the widely publicized and internationally acclaimed film, Half of A Yellow Sun which has been premiered in Nigeria. The film promoters are making frantic efforts to remove the offensive sections and get the film approved. Sources said that the film, an adaptation of Chimamanda’s Ngozi Adichie’s novel is being stopped from getting into the market due to the parts that tend to whip up tribal sentiments, especially on issues that led to the Nigerian civil war.

Wyche the Shooter  A pregnant Florida woman has lost her baby after she was shot in the stomach earlier this week, allegedly by a woman with whom she'd been feuding on Facebook. Police were called the scene - in the 9100 block of Castle Boulevard in Jacksonville - about noon Wednesday after there was a report of an argument and a shooting. Video after the shooting by neighbor Christopher Cash shows the victim slumped in a chair as neighbors rush to help her. A new bride was left exhausted in a hospital emergency room, after she couldn’t stop orgasming for more than TWO HOURS. It was a sad scene on Thursday in the Oworonshoki area of Lagos as no fewer than 10 people were trapped in a two-storey building that collapsed while under construction on Alonge Street. According to a resident of the area, Oscar Joshua, the building collapses around 11.30am. Oscar, who is also the Organising Secretary, Oworonshoki Youth Association, said the building used to be a bungalow but was being reconstructed at the time of the incident. “The building collapsed around 11.30am. Ten people were working at the building when it collapsed. The house used to be an unoccupied bungalow, but about seven months ago, labourers started working on it.  “The bungalow was being upgraded and was to be converted to a two-story building. Luckily for the victims, the building is located near the Oworonshoki Police Station, so we were able to rally around and we called emergency officials who immediately rushed down to the scene.”

Toba and Muda The Lagos State Police Command has arrested alleged serial killer, Adigun Oriyomi, aka Muda, after five months of being on the run. The command also arrested two others, including the alleged gang leader in the Fadeyi area of the state, Toba Ajiboye. PUNCH Metro had reported that Muda was arrested last year for murder and was charged to court and remanded, but was later released. After his release, Muda was said to have gone after those who wrote statements against him at the police station and was said to be involved in about four more murders, including that of a pregnant woman and her three-year-old child in the Akala area of Mushin.

A Virgin Australia plane flying to Bali was the focus of a hijack scare after a passenger believed to be drunk attempted to enter the plane's cockpit. The security alert began when Indonesian officials said the pilot of the Boeing 737 flight from Brisbane reported a hijack attempt. When the plane landed at Bali's airport it was escorted away from the terminal by military trucks, with other flights grounded, witnesses at the airport said. However, the local airport manager for Virgin Australia, Heru Sudjatmiko, told local TV the disturbance was caused by a drunk passenger who was acting aggressively and had to be handcuffed by crew after trying to enter the cockpit.

Members of the National Conference Committee on Political Restructuring and Forms of Government have all agreed that the SouthEast zone should be at par with others. The Southeast has five states; others zones have a minimum of six states. Jubilant Southeast delegates praised the magnanimity of the Committee. The Committee also adopted a simplified procedure if states wish to merge. Members of the Committee were unanimous in supporting the creation of additional state for the SouthEast. But Senator Nimi Barigha-Amange warned that the creation would lead to a deluge of demands from other parts of the country. This, in his view, may be difficult to manage at the critical stage.

The enlarged security meeting convened by President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday rose with a directive to the already over-stretched Nigeria military to do everything possible to rescue the schoolgirls abducted by the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents last week in Chibok, Borno State. But how exactly will the military go into the Sambisa Forest and rescue these girls from a Boko Haram that is in a sense fully armed? Anyway, anything is possible so lets keep hoping for the best. A male passenger was caught groping a woman's breast for five minutes while she slept on a recent British Airways flight from London to San Francisco, police said. The woman, who hasn't been identified, was napping when Vinay Pochampally, reached over from behind, placed his hand down her shirt and made 'skin-to-skin contact' while other passengers watched, according to a U.S. District Court criminal complaint. The incident occurred about two hours into BA Flight 285 on April 15 and Pochampally was allegedly intoxicated at the time. The victim was sitting in row 37, which on a Boeing 747 has a 'bulkhead of the galley and restroom area' behind it.  Pochampally, who was assigned to seat 36G, positioned himself in the gap behind row 37 and in front of the bulkhead, FBI Agent Bianca Betz wrote in a sworn affidavit, obtained by The Smoking Gun.
