The 19 members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), have filed a notice of discontinuance of a suit they instituted against Governor Ayo Fayose at the Federal High Court in Lagos. The lawmakers had filed the suit against the state governor and others, to challenge the purported impeachment of Hon. Adewale Omirin as Speaker, and running of the House by only seven members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The APC lawmakers were alleged to have earlier fled the state after Hon Omirin’s impeachment, but were directed by the party to return after the March 28 Presidential elections. A copy of the notice of discontinuance which was signed by the 19 lawmakers was obtained on Thursday by Channels TV’s judiciary correspondent, Shola Soyele. In the suit, the APC lawmakers had specifically argued that by the provision of the constitution, the 7 PDP lawmakers lacked the legal right to take decisions on be

Korede Bello Slammed By US Based Pastor Over Church Performance

Image
Last Sunday Mavin Records artiste, Korede Bello was a special guest at Harvesters International Christian Centre where he was invited to come perform his hit song to celebrate Easter. The God Win crooner thrilled the church audience with a live performance of his popular song, sending the auditorium into a frenzy. However, Korede’s performance has drawn criticism from US-based, Pastor Olusola Fabunmi. The Pastor was obviously not happy with the artiste who performed on a church altar. According to him, There must be a clearly defined boundaries of who sings or ministers in churches. Some of the questions that come to mind are; is he born again? Sanctified with the spirit of God and baptized in the Holy Spirit? He continued: Let’s ask ourselves, what’s even the purpose of people singing in churches and Christian concerts? Where purpose is lacking and abuse is inevitable writes Francis Wale Oke in his book; The Power of the Holy Spirit.

The governor spoke Thursday in Port Harcourt at a stakeholders meeting “We will not vote if we don’t see the result sheets. Ask the INEC officials for the result sheets. Abuja ( AFP ) - "Few would have believed that the taciturn, austere General Buhari had a soft, smiling and sweet woman at home," the Vanguard daily said after the former military ruler was elected Nigeria's next president. APC Set To Approve Buhari’s Ministerial List

Image
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress will ratify the list of persons to be appointed into the Federal Executive Council before presentation to the National Assembly. It was learnt in Abuja on Wednesday that party leaders were seeking to restore the party supremacy which some alleged was lost during the 16 years that the Peoples Democratic Party held sway. A prominent northern leader of the party, who pleaded for anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, said the APC was working to avoid the pitfalls which led to the collapse of the PDP. He said, “We are looking at a situation where the party will direct the affairs of government in line with our manifesto. Recall that this was largely the case during the second republic. According to him, under the APC administration, there is no way the President’s wife would have the latitude to meddle in the party affairs to the extent of dictating who got appointed and who did not. He said, “T

Alison Madueke Escapes From Nigeria? Claims She Is Sick

Image
Fresh reports have indicated that Petroleum Minister, Alison Madueke, has left the country for the United Kingdom on alleged health reasons. But other sources say she fled due to the defeat of Goodluck Jonathan by General Muhammadu Buhari and her many controversial financial deals. The Oil sector under watch has been riddled with series of corruption coupled with a private jet saga. In September, 2012; New York based Sahara Reporters revealed how the Minister left for the UK for medical treatment, but she swiftly issued a rebehindal declaring herself safe and sound. In spite of several sources corroborating claims of her health condition, saying how pertinent documents requiring her attention or signature were being taken over to the UK for her to handle, she denied all the claims of a failing health. Sources have confirmed that Alison Madueke is out of the country again. There is however a twist to this particular trip abroad given that the preside

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Finally Opens Up: Why My Wife Is Divorcing Me

Image
Founder of Believers Love World Ministry aka Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has finally spoken on the divorce suit filed against him by his wife after a long time of silence on the issue. According to Daily Post, Oyakhilome described the allegations leveled against him as “crazy” and “stupid” and urged his church members to pray for his estranged wife while speaking on Sunday evening during the monthly global communion service of the church. Pastor Oyakhilome, who appeared disturbed during his first few minutes on stage, acknowledged that divorce is un-Biblical but suggested he could consider the option should his wife insist on it. “I heard that some media houses – especially in Nigeria, are writing some things against me. All sorts of frivolous charges, that’s crazy. “You have to understand something about a man of God. A man of God is not just someone who worships God or preaches God. A man of God is handpicked by God, set on course by God

Wike can betray his mother for money, he is a thug - Gov Amaechi

Image
Governor Rotimi Amaechi says the PDP Governorship candidate in Rivers state, Nyesom Wike is a thug that can betray anyone, even his own mother, for money. Amaechi said this while campaigning for the state's APC candidate Dakuku Peterside in Port Harcourt today April 9th. "Nyesom Wike loves and worships money; he can betray his mother for money – nothing more, nothing less. PDP is afraid to come out for an election; they are used to writing results and the era of writing results is coming to an end. How can you see a man like a tout like Nyesom Wike and you will allow him to address you? Be assured that no matter how many criminals Nyesom Wike brings out, no matter how many militants he brings out, if we hold our vote and vote rightly, we will defeat him. Wike is in a fight for immunity and by God’s grace he will not get immunity because he has to answer for all the death in Omofro. Who killed the people they killed in Omofro? Who killed the two persons in
