Image
A so Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja Thursday March 22, 2018 10.20am WAT Your Excellency Muhamadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Senator Bukola Saraki, Senate President; Honorable Yakubu Dogara, Speaker of the House; Your Excellencies, executive governors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Royal fathers; Distinguished ladies and gentlemen; and as you say in Nigeria, all other protocols observed. Thank you for welcoming me to Nigeria. I’ve been coming here regularly since 2006, and I’ve always felt welcome. Nigerians usually greet me warmly. The first time I met the Sultan of Sokoto, I was honored that he greeted me with the gift of a white horse. At some point during every visit, though, some brave person eventually asks me—very politely—“Why are you actually here?” It’s an understandable question. Most American technology guys don’t wander around Nigeria lear

Why I was 'very direct' in criticising Nigerian govt - Bill Gates

Image
A merican billionaire and businessman, Bill Gates, has said that his criticism of the Nigerian government’s Economic Recovery & Growth Plan was to stir leaders to wake up to their responsibility and focus on human capital development. Mr. Gates said Nigeria needs to act to save the country’s large youth population. During his visit to Nigeria, the co-chair of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, addressed an expanded National Economic Council meeting in Abuja where he criticised the government for “prioritising physical capital over human capital” in its economic development plans. Present at the meeting was Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, state governors, and ministers. Mr. Gates’ comments attracted a huge debate among Nigerians across all political divides, with many backing his call. The federal government claimed Mr. Gates’ remarks was misunderstood by the media, and tried to counter the message by highlighting its effort to develop human capital. B

BREAKING: Buhari Declares Tenure Extension Of APC National Chairman, Others As Illegal.

Image
P resident Muhammadu Buhari has declared the tenure extension of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman and other elected state officials as illegal. The President made this known on Tuesday while addressing members of the National Executive Committee of the Party in Abuja. He explained that after due consultation, it had become imperative to overturn the resolution of the February 27 NEC, which allowed the extension of the tenure of Mr Odigie-Oyegun by one year, on the ground that it contravened Article 17 Sub-section 1 of the Party constitution which recommends a 4-year tenure for all elected officials. President Buhari further stated that the tenure extension contravened the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which requires elected officials to present themselves for re-election after four years. He, therefore, stressed the need for members to avoid constitutional infractions which could make the Party vulnerable to litigations.

JUST IN: Lawyers storm out of Lagos Land Use Charge public hearing

Image
T here is confusion at the Lagos State House of Assembly as lawyers are currently demanding the postponement of the public hearing on proposed amendment to the Land Use Charge. Adeshina Ogunlana, the chair of the Ikeja branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, had opposed the constitution and holding of the public hearing on the ground that stakeholders had no access to the amendment. Mr. Ogunlana called for extension of the hearing to allow stakeholders read through the document and make meaningful contributions. In a swift reaction, Bayo Oshinnowo, the chairman of the 6-member Ad-hoc committee on the proposed amendment said there was no basis for the postponement. Similarly, Mudashiru Obasa, speaker of the assembly, said the issue is not enough to call for postponement. He said the amendment parts are eight sections and the controversial aspect and the nonavailability of the document is not enough to call for postponement. The reaction apparently an

HISTORY: THE STORY OF CLIFFORD ORJI THE HUMAN CANNIBAL (Human Eater)

Image
C lifford Orji was a Cannibal caught in Lagos. He was not only eating humans, he was also selling off their parts to highly-placed Nigerians for money rituals. When Clifford Orji the Cannibal human killer and eater was caught, human parts were discovered in his 'den' with 'Personal Effects' of those who fell victim to his cannibalism and human ritualism, most especially women. He was arrested by Lagos State Operation Sweep team and later charged to court. The courts later declared him 'insane' to stand trial, and remanded him in Kirikiri Prison. whether he was feigning insanity to escape justice is another matter for conjecture. And for many of his highly placed patronizers, Clifford Orji's Caught and eventual incarceration must have felt sad at his capture and exposure, because the supply line was finally cut off,and saving more lives from being plucked away at their prime. Let take a look at his tale. Early Life: Clifford Orji is regar

He abstained from conveniences and material benefits, communication with his family and friends in order that no one could influence him and the System. Sergey Mavrodi worked until his dying day: without holidays and vacations. Mr Mavrody always felt his responsibility for the participants and the System. He never pursued any self-i
