Halima Abubakar insists she's not interested in marriage, says it's overrated

Image
Is it really? I don't think so...I think it's a beautiful thing if you find the right partner but the actress thinks it's not and says she has no immediate plans to be a Mrs, as there's no happiness or genuine love these days. Speaking with Encomium magazine, she said; Marriage has been overrated. It’s unnecessarily over rated. It’s just too much of headache with how things are now. Even ordinary relationship is a huge burden, huge headache and heartbreaking, let alone marriage. When you can’t stand each other as boyfriend and girlfriend, how would you live together under the same roof when you get married? People need to know themselves seriously. When I say seriously, I mean spiritually before getting married. People only know themselves physically, not spiritually, so they end up getting bored with each other. And they will say they don’t want to get divorce because of what society would say after investing so much on the marriage. They stay in that m

Forgery case: It's Senate that's being assaulted. Saraki, Ekweremadu not mentioned by petitioners

Image
The senate have countered the SFG. In a statement released and signed by  Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi  . Read the statement   We note the statement issued by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Mr. David Babachir Lawal that the Senate is not the one on trial in the Forgery case instituted by the Attorney General of the Federation against the Senate President and his Deputy.   We disagree with him on this position and we maintain our earlier stand that it is the Senate that is the target of the present attempt to intimidate the legislature to force a leadership change in the Senate.   Mr. Babachir Lawal should tell us how reasonable it is to conclude that when the President of Nigeria and the Vice President are being jointly tried in a suit whose outcome can remove them from office, it is not the Buhari Government that is being targeted.   It is also imperative to clearly state that contrary to the claim by the SGF, neither the Senate President, D

BREAKING NEWS: Court Sacks Ali Modu Sheriff as PDP chairman

Image
An Abuja high court has removed Ali Modu Sheriff as the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Justice Valentine Ashi, the judge, on Tuesday, nullified the 2014 amended constitution of the PDP through which Sheriff was appointed chairman. He held that the process of amending some sections of the party’s constitution ran contrary to the Electoral Act, declaring the positions of Sheriff and other PDP executive as null and void. The judgment followed a suit filed by Joseph Jero, a member of the party. The PDP has been embroiled in a leadership since its national convention in Port Harcourt. While Sheriff had mid-way announced the cancellation of the exercise, some leaders of the party went ahead with it, setting up a caretaker committee chaired by Ahmed Makarfi, former Kaduna state governor. The committee was given three months to steer the affairs of the party, and to hold another convention at the end of the term. But Sheri
