APC lists instances of looting in the last administration, says no worthy leader will ignore such cases

Image
Press statement from APC.. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as spine-chilling and mind-boggling the massive looting of the nation’s treasury by public officials, saying nothing but the total recovery of the funds will be acceptable to all patriotic Nigerians. In a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said anyone who attempts, either by deeds or words, to sabotage the recovery efforts is not a patriot and deserves nothing but public opprobrium. It therefore thanked Nigerians for their overwhelming support for the Buhari Administration in its tough but important task of tracing and recovering the loots, while also ensuring that the looters face justice. ”It is absolutely gratifying that Nigerians are vehemently opposed to the few who would rather have the government of the day turn a blind eye to the looted funds and, in their words, carry on with the process of governance. ”Truly, what sort

Orji Kalu Blasts Ex-President Obasanjo, Says He’s A Super Thief

Image
Former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has urged Nigerians to be wary of former President Olusegun Obasanjo because he is a comedian, deceiver and destroyer. He said Obasanjo was skillful in the art of destroying any individual or institution, while at the same time, pretending to love the country. Kalu was reacting to comments credited to the former president that he (Obasanjo) was yet to make up his mind on which party to join. Before the March 28 presidential election, Obasanjo, a former Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ordered a member of the party in Abeokuta, Ogun State to tear his (Obasanjo) membership card. Since then, according to him, he has remained partyless. Kalu, President of Slok Group, a worldwide business empire, said Obasanjo “is a turncoat than a patriot he

Imagine this scenario: A civil servant whose annual salary is not up to N3 million somehow manages to acquire a mansion worth tens of millions of naira in one of the most expensive cities in his country and across major cities of the world. But even as tongues are still wagging as to how he managed to construct such a gigantic edifice, he goes the extra mile. Just as he is about to leave his plum and ‘precious’ job because he saw his imminent sacking by President Muhammadu Buhari despite what he claims to have contributed to the electioneering campaign that brought the incumbent president to power, exclusive news filtered through a newspaper (not Universalreporters247.com) that he has yet again built the equivalent of a Saudi Sheik’s palace near his Jabi old mansion in the nation’s capital city, Abuja. Then he has had a tunnel constructed to connect the two properties. The new gigantic edifice, a masterpiece of modern architectural design with unique structures that beaut

Buhari’s greatest achievement so far is the harrasment of PDP, says Fayose

Image
Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, says the harassment of leaders of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) is one of the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari since he assumed office. A fierce critic of Buhari even before the president came into power, Fayose said he would continue to speak out against perceived ills of the current administration no matter the level of intimidation.  “Rather than concentrate and make a difference within his 100 days in office, the president’s greatest achievement so far is harassment of PDP leaders, appointment of his in-law and kinsmen into sensitive positions, selective fight against corruption and arrest and detention of INEC officials who worked in states won by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” read a statement issued on his behalf by Lere Olayinka, his spokesman. “I want to state without fear or favour that I will continue to speak the truth no matter whose ox is gored. “Nigeria belongs to all of us and no one can int

Nigerian Air Force pilots smoke out terrorists from bunkers

Image
In the continued onslaught against terrorism in the North East, Nigerian Air Force pilots smoked out Boko haram elements from their fortified bunkers deep inside Sambisa Forests at the weekend. Competent security sources said that the raids were part of efforts aimed at ensuring that the marching orders issued by President Muhammadu Buhari for the military to annihilate the deadly terrorists and their activities in the next three months is complied with. In series of videos Alpha jets and attack helicopters were seen raining explosives on some targeted locations hidden under trees and open warehouses. Unlike the standard bunkers that are fortified chambers built below the ground with reinforced concrete, some of the fortifications destroyed by Nigerian Air Force were not set below the surface of the ground but were mostly covered by logs and tree trunks. The mission is being accomplished by the recent deployments of fighter jets and attack helicopters in the N

Image
- Kano-Lagos rail project not funded by China-EximBank - China-EximBank keeps and disburses funds for approved projects to contractors based on milestones; funds are not domiciled with Finance Ministry Since this story was first reported, we have continued to receive media inquiries regarding an allegation reportedly made by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Alhaji Mohammed Bashar, that a substantial part of a $1bn loan obtained from the China-EximBank by the Jonathan administration for a Kano-Lagos rail project was diverted to other projects.  I want to state categorically that there is no truth in the reported allegation. Anyone who is interested can cross-check with the China-EximBank or the Chinese Embassy. It is noteworthy that even though President Buhari, in his reported comments on the allegation, made no reference to Dr. Okonjo-Iweala but rightly stressed the need for due process and transparency in the execution of public projects, a sponsored

Villagers in Indonesia's remote and mountainous eastern Papua region reported that an aircraft had crashed, a Trigana Air official said on Sunday, several hours after an aircraft carrying 54 people went missing, media reports said. Earlier the National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS) said a twin-turboprop aircraft had lost contact with air traffic control as it flew over the forested area but efforts to trace the plane were difficult because of failing light as night fell. Indonesia has a patchy aviation safety record and has seen two major plane crashes in the past year, including an AirAsia flight that went down in the Java Sea, killing all on board. "We received reports from residents. We, along with the search and rescue team, also sent aircraft to search for it," Trigana Air Operations Director Beni Sumaryanto said, according to the kompas.com news portal. He said that within 30 minutes of receiving news that the aircraft was missing,

Presidency fired back at the Igbo leaders under the aegis of Igbo Leaders of Thought. The group is led by constitutional lawyer, Prof. Ben Nwabueze. The Igbo leaders went  ahead to classify the former Nigerian leaders as belonging to what they called “the invisible government of Nigeria.” Reacting to the statement, yesterday, The Presidency said: “Whoever knows President Buhari will not say that kind of thing of him. Nobody can teleguide President Buhari as a leader because he is a  listening leader. He will listen t

True story: An interesting personal encounter with a mad woman

Image
Article written by a reader who had a personal encounter with a mad woman. Read below. This happened a few years ago and I thought I should share. Before this I had often wondered who impregnates mad women. Who are the men doing so? Who in their right mind sleeps with them? This encounter answered my question. Please read on. After four days at the hospital where I had an Appendicitis operation, the doctors cleared me to go home. My mum wanted to go to the bus stop and get a taxi but I declined. After four days coupled up in the hospital bed I needed some fresh air and a bit of  exercise. We got to the bus stop and joined the rest of the passengers waiting for vehicles. A mad woman appeared. I have seen her a couple of times at the bus stop with other mad folks begging for money. She was tall and lean with a black torn short covering her womanhood and a yellow faded ankara thrown over her shoulder leaving her stomach and thighs bare. She moved from one passenger to the next
