According to multiple eye-witness reports, and residents of Abuja, another blast hit Abuja again this evening. A loud  explosion was heard around Mopol Junction Bus Stop, Nyanya, Abuja. The explosion was reported opposite Nyanya bus park, scene of the last explosion which killed over 70 people.  Report have it that learnt that four persons were left dead with six injured. It was gathered that the bomb was detonated in a car, as it happened during the April 14 bomb blast. The Nigeria Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) officials who were at the scene have evacuated the injured persons. See photos after the cut...

A Nigerian doctor is getting some time in the US for the illegal distribution of painkillers. Apparently it’s the same doctor who was convicted of molestation 2 years ago and suspended from the Physicians Association in Indiana. Wishtv.com reports An Indianapolis doctor has pleaded guilty to illegally distributing painkillers. According to the Marion County Prosecutor’s office, Dr. Segun Rasaki pleaded guilty Wednesday to two felony dealing charges.  Officials say the doctor was writing prescriptions to multiple patients, even after his right to do so had been suspended. In 2012, Dr. Rasaki was convicted of sexual battery and battery against two patients.  The doctor received a one year sentence for that conviction. Rasaki is scheduled to be sentenced on May 27.

Rihanna has been feuding with Instagram following the company's threat to ban her from the image sharing site for violating its rules against nudity. The conflict began Tuesday when the Barbadian singer shared several photos from her photo shoot with a French magazine Lui on the site. The provocative pictures find Rihanna posing topless and, in one instance, bottomless next to a pool. The singer removed the pictures soon after sharing them after the site reportedly warned her to tone down the nudity if she wanted to keep her account. Since the incident, the "Pour It Up" crooner has been posting several images on Instagram mocking the site for their warning. She also instructed fans to visit her Twitter page where she was allowed to share the nude pictures Instagram made her delete.

A hostage negotiator has commenced move to broker a deal between the government and Boko Haram for the safe release of the more than 200 girls abducted by insurgents from their hostel in Chibok, Borno State. “The girls, we believe, are alive but they have been moved from the location to which they were originally taken.  "It would not be hard to engineer a deal. It looks like they want to release them. They want a way out.  “They have a problem. They have over 200 captives and moving them around cannot remain hidden. There is good, reliable, local knowledge as to their location. The military knows where they are."

According to a recently released study by EY, a global business and financial advisory firm, Nigerian bank customers have been rated the heaviest users of Automated Teller Machines in the world. The study also rated Nigeria as one of the top three countries whose bank customers use social media when making decisions on selecting a financial service provider. The study also shows that Nigerian bank customers have the highest banking sensitivity and are the second highest globally to close accounts based on poor experience.   EY’s Advisory Banking Sector Leader for Africa, Mr. Colin Daley said in a statement that they came to the conclusion after sampling 32,000 bank customers in 43 countries including Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. SENATOR Hope Uzodimma has described as incredible and treasonable, Governor Murtala Nyako’s letter to 18 northern governors claiming that President Jonathan, being an Easterner, was using the excuse of Boko Haram to kill innocent Northerners. A 31-year-old barber, Olalekan Oyekan, has been accused of sexually assaulting his neighbour’s wife, Mrs Wilson. The incident happened at Oluwaseun Street, Ikotun area of Lagos State. It was learnt that the defendant operated a barber’s shop in front of the victim’s house. On the fateful day, the victim’s husband was said to have dropped his phone with Oyekan for charging and forgot to take it. It was gathered that the suspect, under the guise of returning the phone, entered the Wilson’s apartment and saw the victim sleeping. She was said to be ill. He allegedly turned off the light and laid beside her, feigning to be her spouse. Oyekan was said to be in the process of having carnal knowledge of the 24-year-old when she suspected it wasn’t her husband and raised the alarm. The suspect was thereafter arrested and arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s court on one count of sexual assault.

The Security Council, Lagos Island East Council Development Area, has ordered a shoot-on-sight order to the police on  people found carrying guns and other weapons capable of inflicting injuries on members of the public. The order was issued after an emergency security council meeting summoned by the Chairman of the Lagos Island East Council Development Area, Kamal Salau-Bashua. No fewer than two persons lost their lives while several others were injured and property worth several millions of naira destroyed in a violence on the island during the Easter celebrations. A statement on Wednesday quoted Salau-Bashua as saying the order was specifically issued by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Area A Command,the Lion Building, Imohimi Edgal. It added that the move was necessary to restore peace and order in the council.

The Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Ikoyi, Lagos, has arrested a 29-year-old man, Henry Ogu, for allegedly defrauding an American citizen (name withheld) of N52.5m ($350000). His accomplice, 42-year-old Yunusa Okonkwo, was also arrested in connection with the fraud. A statement by the SFU Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ngozi Isintume-Agu, said the unit had received a petition via email from  Ogu’s victims. It read, “The victim, a US citizen resident in New Jersey, alleged that sometime in April 2013, she met Ogu on a dating site and both started a relationship which lasted for months until the suspect manipulated and made her to believe that he was in financial trouble in Nigeria. “She further stated that she sent  $350,000.00 to the two account numbers that Ogu provided.  The account numbers were Skye Bank Account Number 36204796 and Ecobank account No. 04087350 belonging to Faneece Business Services International.” Police investigation reportedly reveale
