Lagos Woman Sodomized With Pepper Sauce Develops Mental Problems

Image
Not the real image Last week in Lagos State, a woman was subjected to the extreme torture of having ground pepper smeared on her genitalia, causing the woman to develop mental instability.  Civil society activists told our correspondent that the victim of the latest savage violation is 25-year-old Opeyemi Amuda who resides in Ikorodu, Lagos State. According to our sources, the victim, who was married four years ago, was on June 15, 2015 subjected to the unusual form of torture by her in-laws.  The in-laws, who are self-confessed members of a witchcraft society, accused their victim of using ingredients forbidden by their witch society to cook a meal for them. They reportedly alleged that Mrs. Amuda, as a fellow member of the same witchcraft society, knew that the ingredients she used were abominable to members of their group.  For her offense, the woman’s in-laws mixed ground peppers with local gin and poured the concoction in her private part.  Civil soc

Jonathan’s policy on ‘tokunbo’ cars must be reversed – Senator

Image
The senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Ali Wakili, has pledged to champion the reversal of the federal government automobile policy that led to increment in tariff on imported second-hand (also called tokunbo) vehicles. The Jonathan administration introduced the Nigeria Automotive Industry Development Plan in 2013 to ensure increased local manufacture of vehicles and limit importation of tokunbo cars by raising tariff on them to as high as 70 per cent of vehicle cost. The policy generated mixed reactions with commercial road transporters and some businesses questioning the policy while the government defended it; saying in 2014 that the implementation was already working positively for the country as some vehicle manufacturers had either started or stated their intentions to start assembling vehicles in the country. The new administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has not stated any policy direction on automobiles, as well as others, as Nigeria

Buhari’s Transition Committee Chairman, Joda, Explodes: We found corruption everywhere

Image
Ahmed Joda, a retired permanent secretary, chaired President Muhammadu Buhari’s Transition Committee, which interfaced with former President Goodluck Jonathan’s team. In an exclusive interview with Daily Trust on Sunday, the ‘super permsec’ of the 1970s and 1980s, would not reveal any of the recommendations his committee made to President Buhari. But he was forthcoming on the state of the nation and the challenges the new government will face in the next four years. Malam Joda was frank and witty in this explosive interaction. Can you recall your experience when you were appointed to head the APC transition committee and your feelings over the appointment? I really don’t know how I felt. I had gone to bed and there was a bang on my door at about 1:30 am and I was naturally feeling sleepy and even afraid that anybody should wake me up at that hour. But they persisted so I opened the door and asked what it was and they said it was the president-elect who wanted to sp

People familiar with the president’s plan said Mr. Akande’s appointment would be among several others to be announced Monday or Tuesday. PREMIUM TIMES learnt that under the present arrangement in the presidency, there would be only one presidential media and communication office but that individual appointees would be given separate responsibilities. Mr. Akande would be deployed to work with Mr. Osinbajo, our sources said. It is not clear whether the journalist has returned to Nigeria to take up the appointment. He could not be reached on his U.S. telephone on Sunday. He was however in Nigeria in May to cover the inauguration ceremony for his media agency, Empowered Newswire. He returned to
