A grieving mum who agreed to be artificially inseminated with her dead son’s sperm now has twins after being told by doctors she needed a surrogate to complete her dream of ‘reincarnating’ her child. Rajashree Patil, 49, was informed by doctors that she was unfit for IVF treatment using a sample taken from her son Prathamesh, who died of a deadly tumour. She had wanted to conceive the children herself by being the surrogate mother, but doctors said she was medically unfit as she had already begun her menopause. Instead, Prathamesh’s semen was used to fertilise an egg which was given by an anonymous donor that was not related to the family, before being implanted into a close relative. M inister of State For Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, has ordered NNPC to ensure that fuel queues disappear from all filling stations by Sunday February 18th. Kachikwu gave the directive when he spoke at a world news conference to intimate journalists on the upcoming international oil and gas conference and exhibition tagged the Nigerian International Petroleum Summit (NIPS). I can tell you behind the scenes, a lot of meetings are taking place because the fuel queue issue is both logistics and policy issues. A student (name withheld ) on Thursday recounted before a Sexual Offences Court in Lagos how she was lured to a location by a supposed female friend she met on social media who claimed to be a fashion entrepreneur and just returned from the United Kingdom to set up a business in Lagos. The victim, who is also a model, said her supposed online friend told her she would need her expertise to get the business moving. But it turned out it was a male gang using a female pseudonym to lure, rob and rape unsuspecting victims.
