Defence Headquarters has denied claims by Chadian Military that it carried out airstrikes on some Boko Haram hideouts in Nigeria. A statement signed and released by Major Gen. Chris Olukolade, the Director of Defence Information this evening, stated that the areas the Chadian military attacked was most likely within Niger republic and not Nigeria. Part of the statement reads;  "The fact is that the Nigerian Airforce surveillance mission identified targets tagged as Camp 6 around Bosso town, which is not within Nigeria’s territory and alerted the partners accordingly. The places reported to have been struck by the Chadians are therefore most likely to be in Niger Republic and not Nigeria as widely reported in the international media. The Nigerian military will continue to cooperate with partners in the mission to exterminate or contain terrorists strictly in conformity with existing terms of the Concept of Operation at strategic, operational or tactical level

Earlier today, Rivers state government released a statementsaying that they have recovered some properties carted away by some members of the immediate past administration in the state among which is a Jeep allegedly carted away by the former spokesperson for the Amaechi administration, Mrs Ibim Semenitari. The governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the last elections in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has decried the campaign of calumny against him over his Aro descent, describing it as primordial and laughable. Otti said the campaign being run against him by his political opponents was lame and would only be acceptable to the gullible. According to him, Ngwa ethnic nationality in Abia is a conglomeration of migrants, essentially from Aro, Akwa Ibom and Mbaise in Imo State. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Thursday, said it had arrested former Gov. Ikedi Ohakim of Imo State. Mr Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesman for the EFCC, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja. He added that former Gov. Sule Lamido of Jigawa was also being interrogated over corruption allegation. “Ohakim was picked up by operatives of the commission at 8 a.m. from his Abuja residence.’’ He said the operatives had gone after the former governor following his failure to honour an invitation by the commission. “I cannot say precisely the amount involved in the allegation brought against Ohakim but he was picked up this morning from his Abuja residence”, he said. Remember the 21 year heavily pregnant lady who was attacked by two men in Peckham, London on Monday June 15th and stamped on her stomach, causing her to lose her pregnancy? (read  here ). Well, a man named Kevin Wilson - identified as the father of the baby and the young lady's ex-boyfriend has since been arrested for the crime. Kevin, 21, appeared in court today accused of repeatedly kicking Malorie Bantala in the stomach. She was eight months pregnant and she lost the baby. He is being charged with child destruction and grievous bodily harm with intent. Wilson, who came to the court with his family was charged with "intent to destroy the life of a child capable of being born alive, by a wilful act, namely kicking and stamping on the stomach of the 32-week pregnant mother, causing the child to die before it had any existence independent of its mother". The Corps member, Susan Ijeoma Azubike, who was last seen on Sunday May 31st in Owo, Ondo State after armed robbers attacked a GUO Transport bus conveying her and several other passengers to Lagos from Abuja where they were serving, was rescued by the police two days ago. Narrating what happened to her, Susan said;   "I was traveling from Abuja to Lagos on 31st of May, which was on Sunday. I boarded a vehicle by the roadside. I never knew they were kidnappers. The experience was horrible. We were under the rain, so cold and had to sleep under the floor. We were beaten and I was handcuffed. They demanded N10 million from my parents. I thank God   have been release", she said. Her kidnappers are the same men, Lucky Smart and David Akpan, who kidnapped regent of Akungba Akoko township in Ondo state, Princess Mojisola Omosowon who was also rescued 2 days ago.

All these people who keep spotting 'ghosts'! :-) A woman named Lekeisha Davis said she was given the scare of her life when she spotted the image of a little boy in a pic of her son taken in a 'haunted' house in Liverpool, which has since been listed for rent. Lekeisha said she ran out of the property in terror “If you look at the photo, it looks like there’s a little boy in the background. He’s facing the wall. It was spooky because it was only myself and my son in the house. There was no one else here.” The woman lived in the house for three years with her two young children but has since packed out.
